Today, Alberta Party leader Greg Clark released his municipal platform. “Municipalities need to be treated as an equal partner in government in our province,” said Clark. “For too long we’ve had a top-down approach from the provincial government”. “Our plan is about making communities better. We are focused on increasing the supply of affordable housing, building transit to reduce congestion and providing stable and predictable funding to build the infrastructure that municipalities need,”, said Clark. The Alberta Party has a better way: - Implement an affordable housing strategy; - Reduce congestion by investing in transit; -Fund Family and Community Support Services; - Provide stable and predictable funding to municipalities; - Allow regionalization to fix the revenue imbalance; and Create city charters for Calgary and Edmonton.
