Today, Wildrose Leader Brian Jean delivered an important address in Calgary saying the only way to stop the PC Coalition for Higher Taxes, and the NDP is to vote Wildrose. The speech in full can be read here. “After asking for the trust of Albertans, the PC party has collapsed under the weight of crushing debt, dozens of tax hikes and what will be a decade of deficits. Their slow decline appears almost complete,” Jean said. “I’ve been to every corner of this province, and there’s one thing I’ve learned from this campaign: Albertans are looking for change. Change they can trust.” Jean reiterated Wildrose’s balanced and measured plan to not raise taxes, promote jobs and investment in Alberta, and to shrink the size of government. This includes a commitment to bring in total operational savings of $1.1 billion, $1.6 billion, and $2.2 billion over the next 3 years. With PCs dedicated only to holding on to power and propping up a dangerous agenda of higher taxes, Jean said Wildrose is the only party that can protect Alberta from risky NDP-PC economic ideas. “The PCs have broken your trust too many times. Wildrose will work hard to earn and keep it. The NDP can’t be trusted to protect jobs. Wildrose will fight for every single one,” Jean said. “A Wildrose vote is a vote for what matters to you.”
