Lethbridge Police are investigating an early morning home invasion after a male entered a southside home, threatened the occupants and discharged a firearm.
On Nov. 14, 2017 at approximately 5:15 a.m. police responded to a report that a male with a firearm broke into a home along the 500 block of 12 Street South, threatened a male and female and demanded cash and drugs. The subject discharged one round inside the home and then fled the residence when one of the occupants identified him. No one was injured.
Following further investigation police attended a home along the 600 block of 12 Street South. The residence was contained and the area cordoned off as a precaution. Police negotiators were able to make contact with the subject and he was taken into custody without incident.
Investigation in the matter is ongoing and a search warrant is being executed at the home. The suspect and victims are known to one another. This was not a random incident.
Charges are pending.
