They were stuffed alright, to the tune of nearly 6,400 pounds of food in one day.
On Tuesday, citizens of Lethbridge and area came out to support local food banks with the annual Stuff A Bus campaign at the Save-On-Foods stores. Volunteers were on site at both locations to accept donations of food and funds, and worked to fill two City of Lethbridge Transit buses.
Almost 6,400 pounds of food was collected just on Tuesday and donations will continue to be accepted at both stores through the Christmas season.
“Interfaith Food Bank and Lethbridge Food Bank would like to thank Save-On-Foods for hosting Stuff A Bus on our behalf, and we would also like to extend a sincere thanks to the City of Lethbridge Transit Department providing the buses for the event,” organizers said in a news release.
