City downtown tree pruning to begin Monday

The winter’s chill provides a good opportunity for tree pruning.

So the City’s urban forestry department is about to start pruning in the city’s centre.

Downtown work will begin Monday, officials say, and it’s expected to continue until early March. Signs will be placed in front of businesses indicating the work areas, they say.

To limit closure of parking spaces, most of the pruning will be done between 6 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. in the busier parts of downtown. Customers and business owners are thanked for their understanding and co-operation.
