No injuries were reported but a northside fire caused $50,000 damage to a commercial building last week.

Lethbridge firefighters responded to a building fire in the 3000 block of 6 Avenue North at approximately 7:10 p.m. Tuesday, officials said Wednesday.

When firefighters arrived, there was smoke flowing out of vents and open doors of the structure but no visible flames. Employees of the business discovered the fire and extinguished the original source, but the fire had spread to other areas.

Firefighters from three stations responded and extinguished the fire. There were no injuries and damage is estimated to be $50,000.

The fire has been investigated and determined to be accidental, officials said.
