FORT MACLEOD

Fort Macleod RCMP are looking for two spools of primary underground wire and the thieves who stole them from a Fortis job site north of Fort Macleod.

Police say sometime between last Wednesday and Thursday a large wooden reel of 750MCM wire weighing more than 900 kilograms was dragged across Highway 811 near Township Road 93, then taken from area. The wire is encased in black plastic with red stripes, and the reel is about two metres tall and over one metre wide.

It’s the second time wire has been stolen from the site. Sometime between Feb. 1 and Feb. 7, 90 metres of primary underground cable were cut and stolen.

Anyone with information about this or any other crime can contact the Fort Macleod RCMP at 403-553-7200 or Crime Stoppers at 1.800.222.8477 (TIPS). Information can also be submitted online at http://www.tipsubmit.com, or by SMS.
