Dry conditions have another southern Alberta municipality worried about late-winter fires.
This morning, the city announced, effective immediately and until further notice, a fire ban has been placed on all open fires in the river valley area.
Excluded are the stoves at the John Martin Centre, the fire pit at the Elks Recreation Community Compound, the Picnic Shelter at Popson Park, the community fire pit at the Bridgeview RV Resort and any fire pit at a private residential dwelling.
For more information, citizens are encouraged to call the Fire Prevention office at 320-3811 or go online at http://www.lethbridge.ca.
