The City of Lethbridge will collaborate with private or non-profit partners to provide programming and facility management throughout the new Crossings Leisure Complex.
The Crossings Leisure Complex Steering Committee considered a variety of operating model options, and determined having the City of Lethbridge, the Lethbridge Curling Club and a yet-to-be determined third party operate specific areas of the complex based on their individual areas of operational and programming expertise will be the best option for the community, council was told.
“This operating model allows us to make the most of the respective strengths of each operator,” said Coun. Rob Miyashiro, who chairs the steering committee. “The city will operate the twin arenas, the curling club will operate the curling facility, and we’ll have a third party with expertise in aquatics and recreational wellness programs to operate the warm side of the leisure complex.”
