For the first time in its 48-year history, the University of Lethbridge has named one of its graduates as chancellor.
The University of Lethbridge Senate has elected Janice Varzari (BN ’90, MEd ’02) as the University’s 13th chancellor elect.
A local business owner and longtime health-care provider in the community, Varzari has obtained two degrees from the university, served on both the senate and board of governors and seen two daughters also earn degrees at the U of L.
“It is a great honour to welcome Janice as our new Chancellor,” said University of Lethbridge president and vice-chancellor Dr. Mike Mahon.
