CALGARY – Holden Cattoni had five goals and two assists and Christian Del Bianco made 45 saves as the Calgary Roughnecks topped the Buffalo Bandits 16-9 in National Lacrosse League action Saturday.
Calgary (7-9) secured a playoff spot late last month while the Bandits (8-8) missed a chance to separate themselves from the pack in the tight East Division. Buffalo remained tied for third in the division with New England. The top three clubs from each division qualify for the post-season.
Wesley Berg paced the Roughnecks with a goal and eight assists, Dane Dobbie had a hat trick and three assists and Curtis Dickson scored two goals and added four assists.
Garrett McIntosh, Greg Harnett, Mitch Wilde, Chad Cummings and Riley Loewen also chipped in goals for the Roughnecks.
Mitch Jones, Harris Vaughn and Jordan Durston had two goals apiece for the Bandits, while Mitch de Snoo, Shawn Evans and Dhane Smith also found the back of the net.
Alex Buque took the loss for Buffalo, giving up 12 goals on 37 shots before being relieved by Zach Higgins in the fourth period. Higgins made 15 saves and allowed four goals.
Calgary went 1 for 6 on the power play and Buffalo went 4 for 7.
