ABREY
JOHN HENRY ABREY, of Coaldale, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Monday, July 1st, 2013 at the age of 48 years.
John was born July 19, 1964 in LeRoy Saskatchewan to John and Janice Abrey. John married Wanda Bjorklund in 1981 and had two children Dawna Michelle Martha, and John Gordon Mark. In 1988 he married Vera Caldwell in Lethbridge who had two children, Vincent John William and Amy Brooke. John and Vera had a son, Jacen Mackenzie John in 1989.
John leaves behind his best friend and father John Abrey Sr. and mother Janice, Brother Jacen (Kim),and their children, Kandace, Darcee, Reagan and Kaci, sister Julie (Frank) Rach, Dustin and Tanna, wife, Vera, and children Dawna Critchley (Jason Moore) and her children Dalton Eiserman, and Levi and Neveah Critchley, Vincent Caldwell (Chandel storey) and daughter Brooklyn. Amy (Gary) Hume, Mark (Leslie Tiefenbach) and their children Nolan, Dylan and Raylie, and Jacen. As well as numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
John was preceded by grandparents Victor and Olive Abrey, George and Martha Nickel, and cousin Donna Schroeder.
John worked hard to support his family of seven. Through the years he worked for Well-Tech in Taber and Australian Canadian in Coaldale. In 2001 he was unable to work, but worked hard on many projects. John had a true passion for woodworking and building things. He was always willing to give a hand to help his neighbours, friends and family. John had a large place in his heart for animals and especially his pets. From the numerous cats and dogs to his pygmy goat Daisy May. Spending time at the campground gave him a sense of pride and purpose. He was able to be himself and had many friends who cared about him.
A Graveside Service will be held at the Coaldale Cemetery on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 2:00pm
A Celebration of John’s Life will be held on July 19, 2013 at the Hyland Campground Hwy 2 south of Fort Macleod commencing at 2:00pm until closing.

Harold James Fredrick GIFFORD
1929 – 2013
Mr. Harold Gifford beloved husband of Marjorie Gifford of Pincher Creek, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the Pincher Creek Hospital at the age of 84 years.
Harold was born on April 6, 1929 in Summerview, Alberta, and was the only child of Lloyd & Bertha Gifford. At a young age Harold started to farm & ranch with his dad in the Summerviw area, which he continued to do until his passing. He enjoyed the outdoors, working with the cattle and fixing the machinery. Lloyd and Harold also operated the Gifford Sawmill & supplied the lumber for the Summerview Hall in 1949. He also helped start the Heritage Acres Farm Museum, for the local and surrounding areas.
In 1990 Harold and Marjorie (McKee) Kenney were married. They spent many years in Arizona during the winters, where they enjoyed the warm weather and the fresh fruit, especially the grapefruit.
Harold is survived by his wife Marjorie, three step children Beverly Lorraine (Kenney) Wood, Byron Ross Kenney and James Charles Kenney, he also has an extended family in Pincher Creek and Ontario.

MR. CHRISTOPHER DAVID MINSHULL, passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, June 29th, 2013 at the age of 48 years.
 Chris is survived by his parents, sister and daughter.
 An Interment will be held in Chilliwack Cemeteries in Chilliwack, B.C.
 At Chris’s request, no formal funeral service will be held.      

PIETER SCHIPPER
1945 ~ 2013
Pieter Willem Dirk Schipper of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Conny Schipper, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the age of 67 years.
Born in Rotterdam, Netherlands in 1945 and immigrated to Canada in 1956 to the Picture Butte area, later settling in Lethbridge. Pieter was involved in the automotive industry for the better part of his working life beginning as a licensed mechanic. He and his brother Joe, owned and operated the Texaco Service Station, and later, Short Stop Auto, a Volvo/Jeep dealership. In 1990, Pieter went to work for the McDonald Auto Group until his retirement in 2011. He married his best friend and lifelong love, Conny Hutchinson, on September 6, 1968 and together they were blessed with 4 children and 6 grandchildren, Paula (Tom) Fleming, Cody and Kaitlin; Leah (Martin) Jordan Stacey; Gregory Schipper; and Erin (Jeremy) Gray, Samuel, Lauren and Luke. He is also survived by 4 sisters Nellie (Bill) Bezooyen, Mary (Karel) Stam, Aletta (Barry) Grey and Anna (Bob) Houston; 2 brothers Gerrit Schipper and Joe (Frances) Schipper; and sister-in-law Elizabeth Schipper; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Pieter was predeceased by his parents Jan and Engel Schipper; his brother Casey Schipper; sister Jannie Schipper; and sister-in-law Willie Schipper.
Pieter enjoyed woodworking, stained glass and most recently watercolour painting. Pieter was a loving husband and father and his greatest pleasure was his family.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, 1614 – 5 Avenue South, Lethbridge Alberta with Dr. Bruce Martin officiating. A private family interment will be held prior to the service at Mountain View Cemetery.

VEER
MRS. ERMA VEER, of Lethbridge passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2013 at the age of 73 years.
 She is the loving mother of Tom Dyck of Lethbridge. She is also survived by her brother Helmut Jannert and Sister Erna Epp.
 Erma was predeceased by her husband Jake Veer and her son Jerry Dyck.
 Er Veer (Nee Jannert) was born February 20th, 1940 in Fuerstenwerder, Saporshje, Ukraine. During the war years the family made their way from the Ukraine to Germany and from there to Paraguay, South America. In 1955 they emigrated to Canada. Erma spent a few years in Vauxhall, AB. before moving to Coaldale where she spent a number of years. She then moved to Lethbridge where she resided until her death, following a lengthy illness.
 Erma treasured the company and special times shared with friends and family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
