She is survived by her loving husband Brett, their son Kyle, her parents; Cliff and Mary Anne Berger, grandmother; Lena Winder, siblings, Sherry (Andy), Kevin (Helen), Darren and Jaylene (Bryce) as well as numerous in laws, uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.
Val was born on June 24, 1966 in Medicine Hat. She was raised in Drumheller before moving to Edmonton with her family in 1980.
Valerie lived for her family. She married Brett on April 18, 1992 and they lived in Stirling before settling in Nobleford. Kyle was born on July 11, 1994. Valerie was a supportive wife and mother, taking care of home and finances while Brett worked and Kyle attended school. Val loved gardening and animals. She worked hard to grow beautiful flowers and vegetables at their home. She always had pets in the house and, although she professed to be a dog person, her cats were always happy to see her. Friends and family appreciated her thoughtful actions and straight- forward manner. With Kyle finishing high school, Val and Brett were looking forward to enjoying more time together.
