HARKER
MARVIN SAMUEL HARKER, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully at the Lethbridge hospital on July 3, 2013 in the loving embrace of his wife of 52 years, Alice Levering Harker. Born May 7, 1922, Marvin was raised in Glenwood surrounded by family, friends and faith.
Marvin is survived by his wife Alice and three children: Rhoda Sheena of Maple Ridge, B.C., John (Tami) of Vernon B.C., James (Lara) of Camas, WA. and 15 grandchildren; his brothers Herbert (Myrna) and Gary. He was predeceased by his daughter Holli, two grandsons, parents Sam & Rhoda Harker, sister Helen Leavitt and brother Bob.
He worked the Harker farm for most of his first 35 years then decided to further his education in Arizona. There he met Alice and they were married June 6, 1960. They moved to Alberta where he began a career in teaching. After having taught across the province he returned to Glenwood where he completed his teaching career at Levern on the Blood Indian Reserve.
Marvin, an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has held offices in the Aaronic and Melchizedek priesthood. He was a missionary in the Western Canadian Mission from 1946-48 and Marvin and Alice served a family history mission together in Salt Lake City, UT.
Marvin Harker’s life was one of quiet service and hard work. He was a gift of kindness and a cheerful word. We will miss you Dad.
The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Glenwood, AB on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., with Bishop Doug Smith officiating.
Friends may meet the family at the Church from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the Service. Interment in the Glenwood Cemetery.

HEALY
Keith Maxwell Healy, beloved brother, uncle, and great uncle was called home by the creator on June 30, 2013 with a lengthy battle with cancer.
Keith leaves to mourn his beloved sisters Delia Healy and Jessica (Lionel) Healy, his special nieces and nephews, Marie, Jacob Williams Jasmine, Gilmore Bearspaw, his great nephew Kayden Bearspaw, and his adopted nieces Janelle, Sissy, Darcelle, Mandy, Michelle, Hanna. His Aunties, Treasa Blackwater, Donalda Redcrow, Veronica (Ray) Brewer, Christine Good Dagger, Catherine, Barbara Healy, Connie (Calvert) Many Gray Horses, Doris (Dale Jr) Low Horn, Elizabeth Big Throat, Alice Healy, Isabell Healy. His uncles Tyron Healy, and Stanley Healy.
Keith was a quiet person and always loved to be with his sisters, brother in-law, niece and nephew. He was a kind and caring person. Keith loved to stay home with his brother in-law. He loved to watch TV, especially if there was sports on.
Keith attended F.P. Walshe School until the passing of his father. He stayed with his mother until her passing, and then resided with his sisters and brother in-law.
Keith was predeceased by his beloved parents Marie Pauline Healy and George Healy Sr. Brothers George Jr, Gilmore, Max Healy, his sister in-law Cheryle Bearspaw. His maternal grandparents Clara and Harry Big Throat. His Paternal grandparents Kate and Mike Healy. Uncles John, Earl, Danial Healy, Hores Max (Annbelle) Big Throat. Aunties Albertine Plume, Celina Twigg, Eveline (Eugene) Twigg.
Keith will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Tuesday July 9, 2013 at the ST. MARY’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Stand Off AB, with Father Pawel Andrasz, Celebrant. Interment to follow at the Healy Family Plot.

MR. GEORGE PATRICK MCLEAN, beloved husband of Maud McLean of Lethbridge passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at St. Therese Villa at the age of 82 years.
He is survived by two daughters Natalie McLean (Lethbridge) and Cindy McLean (Japan); his seven grandchildren James Schwartz, Michael Schwartz, Kelly Schwartz, Dylan Schwartz, Stephanie LeBlanc, Anna Imamura and Mona Imamura; and his sister Estelle Fitzpatrick .
Pat was predeceased by his daughter Kim McLean.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

MOORE
LOIS MADELEINE MOORE (EDWARDS) NEE SMITH of Lethbridge, AB formerly Cambridge, ON beloved wife of the late Silas Moore, passed away peacefully at Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge Alberta at the age of 88 years.
Lois grew up in Napanee, Ontario and was the daughter of Joseph Rae Smith and Mabel Verna Smith (nee Sexsmith). During her marriage to J. L. (Jake) Edwards, they resided in Collins Bay, just outside of Kingston. Lois played golf and bridge, curled and volunteered regularly at the hospital.
When she married her second husband Silas (Si) Moore, they divided their time between Cambridge and the place they loved in Tucson, Arizona.
Lois is survived by her daughter Tracy Edwards and her husband Les Ostrowski, of Lethbridge; son-in-law Robert Brown, grandson Matthew Brown and his wife Kelly of Cambridge; grandchildren Jane Brown Bonk and her husband Myron Bonk; Laura Brown and her husband Darrin Nowakowski; Deborah Brown and husband Danny Stapleford, all of Toronto; grandchildren Amy Adelman and her husband Tarek; Paul Ostrowski and his wife Hyunah Jo of Lethbridge; grandsons Ian Walker, Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia and Ryan Walker, Vancouver, BC. Lois was also blessed to have 17 great grandchildren.
Besides her loving husband, Lois was predeceased by her parents, her brother, Ronald Edward Smith of Guelph and her daughter Sandra Lois Brown of Cambridge.
No formal funeral or visitation will occur at Lois’s request. She and her husband Si will be interred in Cambridge at a family service later this summer.

STEYNEN
MR. LEONARDUS STEYNEN, loving and caring husband of Hannah Steynen-Rijpstra, died early Friday morning, July 5, 2013, at St. Michael’s Palliative Care Centre, after a brief illness. He was 70 years old.
Leo was born in Bandoeng, Java, Indonesia (Former Netherlands, East Indes), on October 16, 1942. His family returned to the Netherlands in 1952. He was certified as a Journeyman Machinist and Draughtsman at the age of 17. After 2 years in the military, during a trip to Switzerland, he met his sweetie and future wife. Leo and Hannah were married August 11, 1965 in Amersfoort, Netherlands and immigrated with their twin daughters to Alberta, Canada, in April 1968.
Leo leaves behind his wife Hannah of 48 years, 2 daughters Leona and Kim, 2 sons Marc and Quintin each having their own families as well as a proud legacy of 12 grandchildren. He also leaves extended family in the Netherlands. Leo is predeceased by an infant son, Bart and 2 sisters, Anneke and Trees.
The Celebration of Leo’s life is significant in that it will occur exactly 50 years after meeting his beautiful wife, Hannah. The Memorial Service, led by Pastor Steven Reynolds will be held Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH – 1614 5 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB.
Because of the tender care Leo received at St. Michael’s Care Centre, donations may be made to the ST. MICHAEL’S UNIT – 1400 9th Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB, T1J 4V5, instead of flowers.

WESSNER
MR. LOVERNE (VERN) WILFRED WESSNER, beloved husband of Mrs. Freda Wessner, passed away suddenly at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Friday, July 5, 2013 at the age of 87 years.
Vern was born on October 27, 1925 in Morse, Saskatchewan to Edmund and Emilie Wessner.
During his childhood Vern and his Brothers and sisters grew up on a farm with good Christian values, hard work, dedication, honesty and integrity.
His working life began at theCo-op in Hodgeville with his Uncle Alfred Seibel, the manager. He continued his career with the Beaver Lumber Company which took him to Maple Creek and Kindersley, Saskatchewan as a Beaver Lumber Manager. While in Kindersley he began purchasing his own farmland and starting his cattle business.
Vern was known as being a man of hard work, and only a handshake was needed to close many business deals.
On March 4, 1978 Vern married his loving wife Freda which took them to Leduc, AB for two years. In 1980 Vern retired from Beaver Lumber and then moved to Lethbridge, Alberta. This allowed Vern more time to manage his farmland and cattle business throughout Saskatchewan and southern Alberta.
In Vern’s later years he enjoyed camping, fishing, checking crops and checking his cattle at local feed lots. Vern always had time for a good cup of coffee and a piece of apple pie, while reminiscing about the old days, price of crops and cattle with his friends and business partners at auction sales and custom feed lots.
Besides his wife Freda, he is survived by his brother, Walter (Betty), and sisters; Adeline (Ken) Ratchliffe, Jean (Ben) Anderst. As well, Freda’s three sons, many nieces, nephews and their families.
Vern was predeceased by his parents, Edmund, Emilie and his older brother, Harvey.
A Visitation will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME – 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB, on Thursday, July 11, 2013 from 7:00 -8:00 P.M.
A Memorial Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Joe Repetski officiating.
In Lieu of flowers, family has asked that donations be made to the Red Cross Flood Relief for Southern Alberta.
