SABEY
DEANA MARY (WORKMAN) SABEY of Magrath, Alberta passed away peacefully at home, encircled by her family, on September 6th, 2013. She leaves behind her beloved husband and lifetime sweetheart Robert Sabey, her four children Brad (Shannon) Sabey, Bruce (Leanne) Sabey, Dana Bruce and Tim (Jennifer) Sabey, all of Magrath.
She also leaves behind a legacy of 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren who loved spending time together as a family. During frequent family gatherings (including most every Sunday night) grandma was often heard to remark “you fly with the crows you are going to get shot at”. She loved her family most and was especially happy when they were all together. She is survived by her grandchildren: Dahlin (Biz) Sabey, Riley (Kallie) Sabey, Mandee (Jordan) Brame, Chanse (Kinzee) Sabey, Perry Sabey, Jessica (Robbie) Solis, Jordyn Sabey, Keyler (Jenny) Bruce, Kwade Bruce, Weston (Stephanie) Sabey, Jared Sabey and Sarah Sabey. Great Grandchildren: Syler, Laiken, Naylor, Sawyer, Jenisee, and Braxton.

She is survived by her siblings Gail (Linda) Workman, Tom (Janet)Workman, Pam Long and Sister-in-law Millie Workman. She was predeceased and now reunites with her parents and two brothers, Bryce and Mark.
On December 28, 1960 she eloped to Sweetgrass, Montana with her sweetheart and was later sealed in the Cardston Temple. They raised their family in Magrath and on the family farm south of town. It was here that she taught her children the value of hard work, love of nature, and the strength that comes from being a united family. She also loved her many nieces and nephews and her home was always open for lots of good food and fun.
Grandma loved gardening, flowers, camping, bird watching and was known to have a gun nearby when needed. She enjoyed going for drives and watching her family play ball. She loves the gospel of Jesus Christ and her testimony is evident in the legacy she leaves behind. She constantly battled a lifetime of health challenges with courage and determination, always living each day with humor and great strength.

WELLS
MR. STEWART ALDERSON WELLS, beloved husband of Mrs. Irene Wells, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home, as he desired,  on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at the age of 93 years.
He was born in Saskatoon on May 16, 1920 and raised in Senlac, SK. Upon graduating from High School, he attended the University of Saskatchewan where he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Agriculture. Subsequently, he worked at the Research Station in Swift Current and then, in 1948, moved with his family to Lethbridge, where he worked at the Research Station. In the early 1950’s, he relocated to Edmonton for a time, while he earned his PhD in Agriculture, then returned to Lethbridge, to resume his duties as a classical plant breeder and cereal crop specialist; or, as he liked to put it; a “gentleman farmer.” He developed numerous varieties of very successful licensed barleys over the years and was pleased to receive an honourary life-time membership in the Canadian Seed Growers Association in 1984.
He retired in 1980. He was always available to the farmers of Southern Alberta and considered them to be the friends and constituency he served. At various times he was active in Kiwanis, the Fish and Game Association, the Lethbridge Trap Club, the Lethbridge Country Club, Ducks Unlimited and the Alberta Historical Society, amongst others. Right up to the end of his life he took an active interest in politics and was always ready to discuss them, sometimes even quietly!
Stewart was predeceased by his first wife, Hilda, in 1972, and by a son, Elgin, in 1920, and by all his brothers and sisters. He was the last of his generation.
He will be deeply missed by his second wife, Irene Wells; by his son Ian Wells and wife Darlene, of Lethbridge; by son Ken Wells, and his wife, Joanne of Brooks; by daughter-in-law, Susan Wells, of Aylmer, Ontario; by grandchildren; Doug (Alaina), Adrian (Andrea), Gordon (Corinne), Heather, Laura, Ashleigh (Devin), and Rachael; by two great grandchildren, Stewart Wells and Ronan Deis, and by numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
A Funeral Service for Stewart will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB on Monday, September 9, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. with the Venerable Ken Wells officiating.
