CALDER
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of HAZEL CATHERINE CALDER of Bow Island on Monday, December 9, 2013, at the age of 87 years, beloved wife of the late Ron Calder. She leaves to cherish her memory three children, Jim (Kathy) of Lethbridge, Linda (Lothar) Dollfusz of Fort Saskatchewan and Jack (Merry) of Bow Island and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Hazel was born in Lethbridge on July 25, 1926 and raised at Picture Butte. She met Ron and on February 28, 1947 they were married. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the church on Saturday, from 12:00 – 12:55 p.m. The funeral service will be held in St. Andrew’s United Church (139 2nd Ave west, Bow Island) on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Sheila McLeod officiating. JUSTIN ALEXANDER CAMPBELL, beloved father, son and brother passed away peacefully in Mountain View, Alberta, on December 6th, 2013 at the age of 39 years
He is survived by his children whom he loved dearly – Cole, Cache, and Chase; his loving parents, Richard (Loni) Campbell and Marcia (Isaac) Harrison; his grandparents Hugh and Geraldine Court; his siblings – Kristine, Brett, Jordan, Ashley and Lindsay.

Douglas D Jones 1929-2013
Douglas Jones beloved husband of Beryl Jones passed away peacefully on December 8th, 2013 at the Chinook Regional Hospital, Lethbridge, at the age of 84 years.
Doug was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, his kindness and good nature will be missed by his family and best friend Peter Venables. Doug emigrated his family in 1966 from Wallasey England to pursue a life in Canada.
Dad enjoyed woodwork, stamps, cars, and enjoyed watching the birds and tinkering in his garden in Coaldale were he spent the last 20 years.
Doug is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Beryl Jones, daughter Christine Rogers, sister Audrey Jones, grandson Michael Rogers (Jenna) granddaughter Amanda Rogers (Adam) great- grandchildren Clayton, Trace, and Claire and nieces.
Doug’s cremation has been held. A service to be in Grande Prairie at a later date.

Margaret Mary Yellow Horn (Bad Eagle) of the Peigan Nation passed away peacefully at the age of 74 years. She was born July 16, 1939 and passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2013.
The Wake will be held at the residence of Romeo Yellow Horn beginning on Friday, December 13, 20133 at 4:00 p.m.

MRS. CAROL JEAN POEHLMANN (nee Teynor) of Lethbridge, passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 5th, 2013 at the age of 62 years. Carol is survived by her grandson Devin Kenna, her mother Trudy Kazokas, brothers and sisters Wayne (Jennett) Clark & family, Lynda (Rod) Hamilton & family, Gayle (Ron) Teramura & family, Jon Teynor, Marj (Marvin) Sheen & family, Joan (Gary) Risler & family, Peggy Carpenter (Dave Murray) & family and Wally Kazokas. She was predeceased by her daughter Tracy Poehlmann, sister Mina Roberts and her father Clarence Teynor.
 Cremation was entrusted to Cornerstone Funeral Home.

Vujicic, Mary (nee Baranyi)
1926 – 2014
Mary Vujicic passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Friday, December 6, 2013 at the age of 87 years after a very brief illness.
Mary is survived by daughters Rose Schaafsma (Sjoerd), Paula Dick (Graham) of Lethbridge; grandson Benjamin Dick of Calgary, sister Priscilla Brady (Glen) of BC, and many nieces and nephews.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, brothers Karl Baranyi (Wendy), Les Baranyi, sisters Julia Smolnicky (Les), Rose Nagy (Frank).
Mary was born December 4, 1926 in Tard, Hungary. In 1930, Mary came to Canada with her mother Rozsalia Baranyi to join her father Kalman Baranyi in Raymond, Alberta.
After leaving the farm, she worked at the Galt hospital, various waitress jobs, and Automatic Electric.
In 1968 Mary was one of the first people hired when the Woolco store opened in Lethbridge. She spent the next 25 years working there in almost all departments. She retired to spend time with her family and friends and her many hobbies and interests.
A Visitation will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Friday, December 13, 2013 from 3:00 – 5:00 P.M.
A Memorial Service will be held at KINGDOM HALL OF THE JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES, 1510 Stafford Drive North, Lethbridge on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. with Mr. Bill Lang officiating.
Following the Memorial Service an interment will be held a Mountain View Cemetery.
A Reception will be held following the Graveside Service and those that would like to attend may join at Cornerstone Funeral Home at 2:30 P.M.

WOLSEY
1927 – 2013
Our beloved EDNA MARY MELLAFONT WOLSEY passed away Sunday December 8th, 2013 in Cardston, Alberta Canada at the age of 86.
Edna was born in Flesherton, Ontario, Canada March 6th 1927. She was raised on their family farm near Coutts, Alberta. At age 16 she attended Mount Royal College in Calgary Alberta. She later graduated from Holy Cross Hospital Nurses Training in 1949 with the highest honor award in Nursing Theory. After moving to Cardston to work as an RN she met Byron. They were married October 21, 1950. They shared 63 years and look forward to eternity together.
She is survived by her husband Byron Henry Wolsey, her children Mell (Genna Vee), Dana Stewart (Robert), Murray (Valerie/deceased), Todd (Lori), Wes (Julie), Elizabeth Allen (Richard). They have 45 grandchildren, and 29 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents Richard Henry Mellafont, Gertrude Armina Bellamy Mellafont, her siblings and their spouses Leonard (Phyllis), Charles (Minnie), and Reta Perry (Richard) and will meet in a joyous reunion.
Edna labored tirelessly as a loving, devoted wife and homemaker, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, friend and servant of the Lord. She faithfully served in various callings in the LDS church including a full time family history mission with her husband. She especially loved her many years of service in the Cardston Alberta Temple. She honored her ancestors and blessed her posterity through years of family history work.
All who knew her will miss Edna’s quick wit and humor, strength, kindness, wise guidance, love and acceptance.
The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Temple Street Chapel, on Saturday, December 14th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.
Friends may meet the family at the Church from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the Service. Interment in the Cardston Cemetery.

Brenda Henline
1949 – 2013
Brenda Maureen Henline (nee Pickles), beloved wife of George Henline of Aden, passed away at the Raymond Hospital on Friday, December 6, 2013 at the age of 64 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the church prior to the funeral service on Saturday, December 14, 2013 between 9:30 A.M. and 10:10 A.M.

Besides her loving husband George, Brenda is survived by their children Peggy (J.D.) Gibb of Raymond, James (Dina) Henline of Cardston, Timothy Henline of Milk River, Debbie (Gijs) VandenBroek of Olds and by ³soon to be² nine grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Carl Pickles of Lethbridge, Jeffery (Linda) Pickles of Mesa, Arizona, Derrick (Kathy) Pickles of Mesa, Arizona and by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents Ivy (nee Lomas) and James Pickles and sister-in-law Connie Pickles.
Brenda was born June 3, 1949 at 67 Bradshaw Street, Nelson, Lancashire, England. At the age of five, her family immigrated to Canada, settling in Taber. She graduated from W.R. Myers High School and attended Ricks College where she received a one year business certificate. Brenda then returned to Taber and was employed as a secretary at W.R. Myers High School which she thoroughly enjoyed.
Brenda was setup on a blind date with her future husband, George Henline. Within weeks, they were engaged. George and Brenda were married and sealed for time and all eternity on May 19,1979 in the Cardston Alberta Temple. She moved to the Henline Ranch in Aden and worked side by side with George. She drove tractor, combined, worked cattle, and kept the ranch books. Brenda and George were blessed with four children Peggy, James, Tim and Debbie. They are now blessed to have eight grandchildren and one soon to arrive. Brenda was involved in the community; Women’s Institute, Rural Electric Association, 4-H, many history books, HAM radio operator and many other events. She supported her children in whatever activities they were involved; whether they were basketball games, 4-H events, piano lessons, church or school activities and more. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, was the Relief Society President for many years at the Foremost LDS Branch and later a member of the Coutts Ward.
The last two years of her life, Brenda lived in Magrath at the Diamond Willow Terrace Lodge where she met many more wonderful friends. She loved her family, friends, neighbours and her whole community. Brenda will be greatly missed by all, especially her eternal companion, George.

Jim Schmitz
1933 – 2013
James William Schmitz, beloved husband of Katie Schmitz, passed away in Taber on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at the age of 80 years.

He was predeceased by his granddaughter Kelsea Schmitz; parents August and Agnes Schmitz; brothers Lorne, Ed and Art Schmitz; sisters Helen Bugg and Irene Schmitz; brother-in-law Norm Bugg; sister-in-law Carol Schmitz; Katie¹s daughter Elizabeth Tautfest; mother-in-law Eva Jasura.
Jim was born in Englefeld, Saskatchewan on August 4, 1933. He grew up on a small family operated farm outside of Englefeld where his parents had settled after emigrating north from the United States. After leaving home and the farm, he traveled west to British Columbia where he worked for some time prior to finally settling in Taber. Jim had at this point established his path as a heavy equipment operator and started his own successful company building oil well locations for the drilling business. He later sold his business to Triwell Oilfield Construction in Taber where he also stayed and worked as a supervisor for several years. Jim then moved on to do some consulting in his later years through his company KJ Supervision, eventually retiring with his loving wife Katie. The pride he took in his hard work throughout his life spoke for itself and was echoed by many. In his retirement, he enjoyed his visits with his friends at A&W coffee row. Jim will always be remembered for his unique sense of humour and his ability to start a small conversation with anybody. He was a great friend to many and was always willing to give a helping hand to those in need. Jim¹s memory as a loving husband to his wife, a wonderful father to his children, grandpa loonie to his grand kids and a trusted friend to all that were close to him will live on in our hearts forever.
