BUTLER, Catherine “Kay” (nee Fettig)

January 30, 1925 Grassy Lake, AB  – February 19, 2014 Calgary, AB

Kay Butler passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 after several months in the Santuari Hospice at the Peter Lougheed Hospital. She is survived by her loving daughter Bonnie Butler; brothers Alex, Amos and Andrew Fettig; several nieces and nephews, and family friends. Kay was predeceased by her husband, John Butler, in 2001; parents John and Mary Fettig; sister Lena Danchuk and brother Tony Fettig. Until poor health, particularly her diminishing eyesight, no longer allowed, Kay thoroughly enjoyed working in her flowerbeds, reading and doing her daily word search puzzles. She was a very loving, hard-working and quiet, private person, but could be quite feisty when the spirit moved her. While Kay will be greatly missed, there is comfort in knowing she is at peace now. The family would like to thank the staff at the Santuari Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to Kay during her time there. Flowers are gratefully declined. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Church, 404 Northmount Place N.W., Calgary, AB on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website http://www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
