AITKEN
Ronald Aitken, beloved husband of Neva, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at the Pincher Creek
Hospital.
Ron was born in Lethbridge December 5, 1924. He lived his life working hard farming and ranching at
Carbon, Langley, Jumping Pound, High River and Pincher Creek. His 89 years were full of adventure and
horses.
Ron is survived by his wife Neva; daughter Marie (Rod); grandchildren Tyrell, Jade, Zane (Lacy) and
Jaycee; sisters Bev (Len) and Helen; sister-in-law Sallie; as well as several nieces and nephews; great
friends Fred (Jen), Sylvia and Kim. Ron was predeceased by his daughter Julie; sisters Kay, Sheila,
brother Gail; parents George and Cristina.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Friday, April 11, 2014 at the PINCHER CREEK UNITED
CHURCH, 972 Police Ave., Pincher Creek, AB.

CHALMERS
KATHLEEN CHALMERS of Lethbridge, beloved daughter of Neil and Mary Chalmers, passed away suddenly in
Lethbridge on April 3, 2014, at the age of 27 years.
Kathleen, born July 28, 1986, moved to Lethbridge in 2007 after completing her education in the Crowsnest
Pass. She was a client of both the Southern Alberta Community Living Association and Peak Vocational
Support Services where she established many strong bonds of friendship and support. She will be
remembered for her strong will and indomitable spirit. She touched many souls in her short life.
Pre-deceased by her mother, Mary Chalmers in 1989, Kathleen is survived by her father Neil Chalmers, step
mother Tammy Batt of Crowsnest Pass, sister Meghan (Justin) Chalmers Eggert of Crowsnest Pass, nieces
Mary and Emma Chalmers Eggert of Crowsnest Pass as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and their
families.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday April 9, 2014 at Evergreen Funeral Home, 327-10 St

MARY KOPE
1915 -2014
MARY KOPE, beloved wife of the late Peter Kope, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Chinook Regional
Hospital at the age of 93 years.
Mary is survived by two sons, Ervin (Joanne) and Vernon, five grandchildren and numerous great
grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Allen.

Mickey Shukin
1934 – 2014
Mickey Morris Shukin, beloved husband of the late Vi Shukin, passed away in Lethbridge on Thursday, April
3, 2014 at the age of 79 years.
The Funeral Service will be held at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 – 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, April
9, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Arij Langstraat officiating. Burial to follow at the Milk River

He is survived by his daughter Cindy Schawalder of Barnwell and her children Mike, Dylan and their father
Tim; stepson Wayne Brown of Edson and his children Tesha and Jennifer and their families and their mother
Helen; stepdaughter Donna (Barry) Hilliard of Edson and family; stepdaughter Brenda Becker of Edson and
family; son-in-law Brian (Gwen) Jones of Thorsby and his children Jim, Tammie, Jody and their families.
Mickey is also survived by his sister Martha (Emil) Ratushniak of Hay Lakes, brother-in-law Walter Weider
and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Vi Shukin; parents Mike and Mary Shukin; sisters Audrey (Alfred) Hoover
and Nina Weider; stepdaughter Linda Jones and stepson Gerald Becker.
Mickey was born November 30, 1934 in Canora, Saskatchewan. He married Vi Lindgren on May 8, 1964. Mickey
was employed in many different occupations and gained many skills from those opportunities in which he
has passed on his knowledge to his family. Over the years, he spent time farming, working for the
Canadian Pacific Railway and was employed in heavy duty construction and on the oil rigs. Mickey will be
sadly missed but fondly remembered by those he knew.
