Mrs. Donna Martinusen beloved wife of Mr. Don Martinusen, passed away in Lethbridge on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at the age 79 years.
Donna is survived by her husband Don Martinusen; sons David (Syri), Ian (Dana), James and William Martinusen; grandchildren Jenna, Adam and Claire; her brother Alan (Cathy) Velker.
Vigil Rites Prayers will be held at 7:00pm on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at ST. MARTHA’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 355 Columbia Blvd. W, Lethbridge, AB.

DENISE MOUNTAIN HORSE, beloved wife of Mr. Alvin Wells for 34 years, passed away suddenly on August 4th, 2014 in Calgary, AB surrounded by her family.
Denise is survived by her husband Alvin; children – Melodie (Max) Big Throat, Mellisa Mountain Horse, Kyle (Tonya) Sitting Bull, Harley (Naomi) No Runner, Lane (Tawny) Sitting Bull, Shelby Mountain Horse; grandchildren Sunshine – Kipi ta poka Mountain Horse, Annabella, Marcus, Zolie, Ryder, Urijah, Taila, Luna, Shirley Healy & family; stepfather Gary Many Guns; adopted father Alex Mills; adopted children – Tyson Oka, Ian Little Moustache, Tiffany Long T. Squirrel, Joel Chief Moon, Tyler Twigg, Jamie-Lynn English, Bill Grier, Tessie Rider, Kalub Mountain Horse, Nathan Brewer, Dion Heavy Runner, Tyson Goodstriker, Josiah Black Plume, Guy Mountain Horse; siblings – Bettina (Joe) Chief Moon, Joyce (Frank) Russell, Colin (Beulah), Merle, and Debbie Mountain Horse, Roberta, Dino, & Myles Many Guns; adopted siblings – Lorraine Black Water, Sandra Broad Brass, Marian Big Tobacco, Sally Plain Woman, Becky Yellow Wings, Michelle Spenger, Corrola Bruised Head, Lena Small Legs, Joanne Healy, Everett Old Woman; numerous others, too numerous to mention.
Denise was predeceased by her parents Dennis Steele and Marlene Mountain Horse; paternal grandparents Mr. Mike Steele & Nelly Long T. Squirrel; maternal grandparents Mr. Wallace (Eileen Heavy Runner) Mountain Horse Sr. and Mr & Mrs Frank & Helen (Chief Calf) Eagle Tail Feathers.
Denise was born May 10, 1966 in Cardston, AB. She attended School in Fort Macleod (G..R Davis), Kainai, Bow Valley College, U of L satellite campus – RCC in Arts and Science. Her unique gift of compassion and love complemented her employment as a special needs teacher assistant for six years at the Levern School. She was an active P.A.C. member at the Aahsaopi School. She loved sports and won many awards in school and as an adult. She was involved with many Fastball teams (Cardinals, Levern Super Sonics, Gum Boot Gang), Basketball, won G.R Davis athletic award in 1979, Levern Tug of War. She also had a passion for music – especially Blues. She attended BB King Concert and received a necklace from him that he had worn during his performance.
Denise was devoted to her spiritual journey in the 80’s. She made her “search”, than attended a cursillo. She was also involved in the Jehovah Witness Church as well as the New Life Fellowship. Denise was an active member in her Blackfoot culture as a helper with her uncles Joe Eagle Tail Feathers and Arnold Mountain Horse sweat lodges. Denise and her husband Alvin eventually joined the Horn Society until her passing.
Denise’s humble nature attracted many; she was known for having a heart of gold. She was warm, compassionate and loving to all who entered her life. Denise was always willing to help anyone in need. She has been an inspiration to her family, being a mother to all her siblings, nieces, and nephews. She was always welcoming to anyone who entered her home. When greeting Denise, you would not get a hand shake but you would receive a hug instead. She would rather give love first before she said hello.
Denise was a wonderful woman, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother and her life will be remembered forever. She will be missed but not forgotten.
A Wake Service will be held at the Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve on Monday, August 11th from 7:00 p.m. continuing all night. The Funeral Service will be held at the Senator Gladstone Hall, Blood Reserve on Tuesday, August 12th at 11:00 a.m. Interment in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Blood Reserve.

RALPH NICHOLAUSON
1944 ~ 2014
Mr. Ralph Andrew Nicholauson of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Helen Nicholauson, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2014 at the age of 70 years.
Ralph was born on June 2, 1944 in the town of Esterhazy, SK to Hugo and Mary Nicholauson. He was the only brother to three sisters Lorraine (Peter) Nickel, Valerie (Richard) Koenig, and youngest Sharon. Ralph moved with his family to Taber in 1957 and then Coaldale where he met the love of his life, Helen. They married in the summer of 1966 and laid down their own roots in Lethbridge. Ralph and Helen had two children he adored and cherished, Shelley (Terry) Carter and Jason (Erin) Nicholauson and two beautiful grandchildren whom he treasured, Marshall and Blake Carter.
Ralph started working in the concrete and gravel business in 1969 as a heavy equipment operator for then, Lethbridge Concrete Products, now Lafarge for nearly 40 years. Ralph enjoyed music and was able to learn and play several instruments entirely by ear and could make an accordion or organ come alive. He also loved to fish and enjoyed spending time surrounded by the beauty of the Crowsnest Pass, but he loved nothing more than to spend time with his wife and family.
Ralph is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by both of his parents.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mom GLORIA JEAN VIROSTEK (nee: Shaw) on August 8, 2014 at the age of 72.

Gary Glen Jensen, beloved husband of Sharon Jensen, passed away in Calgary on Friday, August 8, 2014 at the age of 78 years.
A private burial service will be held at the Taber Memorial Garden prior to the funeral service. As a result, no opportunity to meet the family prior to the funeral service will be available.
