CAMILLA PARD
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one, Camilla Pard.  Camilla passed away suddenly at her home on August 5, 2014, at the age of 57 years.
Camilla will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Hope (Mike) Pard; Brothers and Sisters: Isadore (Bernadette), Leo (Louisa), Peggy, Joe (Theresa), Anthony, Stan, Amy, Peter; Uncle Thomas Little Plume, Aunt Linda Little Plume. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends and relatives.
Camilla was predeceased by her grandson Stylez Pard, her parents Albert and Rita Pard, Sisters Iris-Mary and Rose-Margery, Brother Stephen, Nephews Clint Pard, Melwyn Morning Bull, Dan Pard, Niece Mary Stump and Grand-niece Robin Stump, Brothers-in-law Jordan Morning Bull and John Prairie Chicken. Aunt Molly (Billy) Strikes With A Gun, Uncle Dick (Katie) Pard.
Camilla was born on September 7, 1956 in Pincher Creek, Alberta and grew up on the Piikani Nation. She was the baby of the family; her brothers and sisters will miss her visits as she made the effort to check up on them. For them she defined the term ‘little sister.’ There are so many other people who will miss Camilla. She could always be relied on for her support in times of hardship, for her crazy sense of humour in any situation whether it was a serious occasion or a celebration. She will be missed for her natural ability to problem solve whether it was fixing a car or helping a wayward niece or nephew out of a ‘sticky’ situation. If a friend or family member needed her help, she gave it without fear, without question. As long as she was helping and doing for others she got fulfillment. Getting rich was not on her radar but if she won the Lotto her brothers and sisters would all be driving refurbished vintage vehicles. Talk to one of her nieces or nephews and they could go on and on about the crazy situations with Auntie Cam, lovingly known as Millie. Millie loved animals and always seemed to have a small breed of dog as her ‘animal child’, Puppy Dog was her first baby who predeceased her. She has also left behind to mourn her passing, Princess, Koda, Puglsy, and Tinkerbell. In younger years travelling to the states to visit her nephew, Clint, was something she loved to do. She suffered from a broken heart that never truly healed after his passing and we can be sure the two of them are reunited and sharing laughter in heaven today. She will be missed by the many friends and adopted children, nephews, nieces, brothers and sisters she claimed through the years. The Pard family acknowledges these individuals for their sense of loss at this time as we know these individuals were important to her.
She enjoyed life to the fullest through it all the greatest gift Camilla ever received was the gift of Hope. She cherished her daughter Hope and they laughed often together and their love and dedication for each other was so visible to all. Love and prayers for Hope as she transitions to a new life. Love and prayers to Camilla, we will miss you.
A Traditional Prayer Service to be held at 1:00PM on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Snodgrass Funeral Home, Pincher Creek. The Wake Service will follow and will be held at Camilla’s home on August 10 and 11, 2014. Funeral Services will be celebrated at Piikani Community Hall on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 1:00 PM. The burial service will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Irma was born in Lethbridge on October 3, 1930 the 4th of seven children. After graduating high school she met and married Jake Dogterom. They set up house on the farm east of Lethbridge and Coral, Jan, Dave, and Nancy soon followed. Mom became active in the work on the farm, raising 4 children and volunteering at the McNally Home and School Association. Later on she worked many years as a Library Clerk at McNally, Sunnyside, Galbraith, and Gilbert Patterson Schools.
Mom and Dad began square dancing and made many long lasting friendships throughout Southern Alberta and beyond.
She also discovered a passion for local history, authoring 2 books and assisting on many more. Besides her husband and children, Mom was most proud of her efforts to launch the Legacy Ridge Development honouring local area women. This and many other community achievements culminated in her being awarded the Queens Jubilee Medallion twice.

Three years ago, Mom and Dad moved to Blackrock Terrace. Just prior to this move and in the years since, various illnesses and medical problems dogged both Mom and Dad. Throughout these trials Mom was always upbeat and positive even when Dad had to go into the Legacy Ridge complex.
Our family wishes to thank all the staff, nurses, doctors, and caregivers at Blackrock, Legacy Ridge, Chinook Regional Hospital, and Home Care Support.
