ROY STERENBERG
1934 ~ 2014
Mr. Roy Sterenberg of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Ann Sterenberg, passed away peacefully with his family at his side, to be with his Lord and Saviour at the age of 80 years. He was born in Lethbridge and grew up in Nobleford. He and his siblings helped their parents on the farm and Roy came away with a strong sense of family, the value of hard work and the memories of their occasional mischievous boyhood pranks. In 1958, Roy met the love of his life, Ann, whom he married a year later. Forever a faithful, diligent, hardworking employee, Roy started at Dick Stevenson Excavation until he began work with Cunningham and Shannon where he remained for many years. During this time, he pursued his passion for flying and obtained his pilot¹s licence. After approx. 17 years, he began working at Jobe Sand and Gravel where he remained until retirement. Even upon retiring, Roy could not sit still so he helped with playground installations with Whitney and Gwen. Roy, in keeping with his Œinventor¹ side, often created new methods and tools ­ still being utilized today, making installations easier. Besides his loving wife Ann, Roy is survived by his children Gwen (Whitney) Atchison, Barb (Larry) Marchuk, Rod (Deirdre) Sterenberg, and Tanya (Elbert) Van Hierden. Roy also leaves behind his grandchildren, Kelsey, Kyle, Kassidy, Kalin, Kailagh, Emilie, Tyler, Cheyenne and Mataya, as well as his great grandson Kaidence and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Roy is also survived by his sister Anne Havinga (Joe); brothers Tom (Evelyn), Bernard (Willy), Clarence (Linda), and sister Janet Weening (Phil); and sister in law Grace (George) Quincy. Roy was predeceased by his parents Berend and Klasina, infant brother John, his eldest brother John and his wife Marie, infant sisters Janette and Janet, brothers-in- law, John, Hans and Jack Taal and Herb Moch. A celebration of Roy¹s life will be held at 2:00 pm, on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the MIZ CITY CHURCH, 501 13 Street North, Lethbridge. Send condolences at http://www.mbfunerals.com.

Marg Zech passed away in Calgary, AB on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the age of 79 years. She is survived by her loving son Doug (Sami), daughter Colleen; four precious grandchildren: Jessica, Deana, Martine and Josh; sister Shirley, and her lifetime friend Madeline. She was predeceased by her husband Ted; brothers Don and Dave as well as her sisters Mary and Kay. Mom¹s zest for an honest life, her humour and her work ethic will always live in each of us, as everyday reminders of the life she lived.
