CARRIE GAYE BALKHAM
1970 ~ 2015
Carrie Gaye Balkham passed away peacefully at 44 years of age on January 21, 2015 in Lethbridge, AB. She was a beautiful and dearly loved mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Carrie achieved her degree as a part of the Foothills Hospital final graduating class of 1995. Her career began with medical volunteer work in the Philippines, took her to hospitals in Texas and Calgary, and concluded with a rewarding tenure at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital. Actively supporting her fellow nurses, Carrie held the position of Secretary with United Nurses of Alberta Local 120 for 4 years. As deeply as Carrie loved her practice of nursing, she was equally passionate about art. As an artist, Carrie¹s talents included painting, photography and poetry. She was inspired by local artists and found expression through art to be therapeutic and rewarding.
Carrie is lovingly remembered by her daughter Taryn Balkham Gruninger, parents Stan and MaryLou Balkham, siblings Kelly and Garth Seitz (JennaLee and TaraLynn), Neil Balkham, Leith and Jim Damiani (Matthew and Erin), Dean Balkham (Christopher, Jason and Emilea), Shannon and Clare Watson (Jenae & Derrick Pritchard and Darcie Torscher). She was predeceased by her sister Peggy Korporal, as well as her grandparents Dave and Tillie Brown and Charles and Lena Balkham, and uncles Allen, Jim and Buster Brown and Raymond Balkham. The family would like to thank Dr. Ireland, Dr. Smutz and Dr. Brigdon, Pallative Care Nurses at St. Michael¹s Health Centre, Jack Ady Cancer Centre Nurses, as well as friends Sara, TK, Christine, Lynda, Tina and Susan who provided loving care and compassion during her illness.
A Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 4:00pm, and a second from 7:00pm – 9:00pm on Friday, February 6, 2015 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 St. S., Lethbridge, AB. A Celebration of Carrie¹s Life will be held at 2:00pm on February 7, 2015 at EAGLES HALL, 631-13 St. N., Lethbridge, AB. Please bring fond memories and stories of Carrie to share if desired. Carrie¹s daughter Taryn was her greatest love, joy and source of pride. Carrie was the best mommy anyone could ever ask for. Clarice Louise DeMaere
Clarice Louise DeMaere, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at the age of 85. Clarice was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Philip, and son-in-law, Howard Bouck. Clarice is survived by one brother, Norman Wold, of Grande Prairie, and one sister Loreen (Orlan) Berg, of Lethbridge. Clarice is also survived and missed by her eight children. Her daughters: Judy (Graham) Smith of Kentucky, Maxine (Greg) Quesseth of Innisfail, Phyllis Bouck of Camrose, Colleen (Allan) Parent of Caroline, Beverly (Evan) Baum of Fort MacLeod, Sandra (Bill) Shapcott of North Carolina; and her two sons: Barry (Shannon) DeMaere of Sherwood Park and Ron (Liz) DeMaere of Lethbridge. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 5 at the Lethbridge Christian Tabernacle (1819 – Ave N, Lethbridge). CHRISTOPHER LANCE DAVIS passed away in Raymond on Monday, February 2, 2015 at the age of 52 years, beloved husband of Holly Davis of Magrath, Alberta. The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Magrath Stake Center on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 11:00 am. ELL, DELOYD
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of DELOYD ELL, on Friday, January 30, 2015 at the age of 74 years. Deloyd is survived by his loving wife and best friend Shirley. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Juanita (Tony) and Laurence (Theresa), three grandchildren, Christina (John), Nicole and Dillan. He is also survived by two nephews Wayne and Greg (Jean) and two great nephews Cory (Carmen) and Jeff and one great niece Shaylee. He was predeceased by his parents Laurence and Barbara Ell, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Marie (Sam) Hofer and Pauline (Tony) Miller and father and mother-in-law Doug and Fran Morrison. Deloyd was the Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus, Council #5726 and President for the 60 Plus Club. Deloyd loved spending time with his family aned will be sadly missed. “You will be in our hearts forever and we love you. Your struggle is now over, rest in peace.”

JEAN MRAK
1951 ~ 2015
Jean Mrak of Coaldale, beloved wife of John Mrak, passed away after a brief illness at St. Michaels Palliative Care Unit on January 30, 2015 at the age of 63 years. Jean was born and raised in Foremost, AB. She moved to Lethbridge where she met her husband of 42 years. They moved to Coaldale 1983, where they raised their two sons. Jean loved running her Financial Advisory Business for over 20 years, and was a School Trustee for the Palliser School District from 2004-2013. Jean loved travelling with John and her family, whether it was a camping trip or an adventure to a foreign destination. Jean was proud of all her grandchildren and loved them dearly! Jean will always be remembered for her sense of humor, amazing smile and gentle spirit. Besides her loving husband John, Jean is survived by her 2 sons Brad (Nancy) and Joe (Laura); grandchildren Lucy, Jager, Kason, Charlie and Cora; 3 sisters Pat (Bob), Kay, Doreen (Clark); 2 brothers Gordon (Deborah), Ray (Faye). Jean was predeceased by her parents Edward and Pauline Taylor.

Nathan Johnson passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at the age of 93 years, beloved husband of the late Pearl Johnson. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Lauree “Ree” Sauter of Medicine Hat, Nels (Carol) Johnson of Raymond, Gerry Johnson of Port Alice, BC, and Mary-Ann McDonald of Lloydminster; one son-in-law, Manfred Both of Edmonton; his sister, Elva Bashaw of Calgary, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Goldie Johnson; his wife Pearl; one daughter, Linda Barth; one son-in-law, Hugh Sauter and one daughter-in-law, Carol Johnson. Nate grew up in Raymond, Alberta and lived there most of his life. He was a heavy duty mechanic by trade and he also enjoyed farming, gardening, playing pool, shuffleboard and cribbage, and playing the guitar and harmonica. Nathan moved from Raymond to Lethbridge then to BC before moving to Medicine Hat where he passed away. 1976 ~ 2015
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of JAY ALLAN STUART PARK, on Friday, January 30th, 2015 at the age of 38 years. Jay was born in Brooks, Alberta on December 3, 1976 to Judy and Byron and was raised in Lethbridge, Alberta. He was predeceased by his father Byron and his maternal grandparents, Marion and Harvey Kilfoyle. Jay will be sadly missed by his mother Judy, his stepfather Alan Hoard, his loving aunty Lee and Jay¹s faithful companion Rayne. He is also survived by his stepbrothers and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins near and far. Jay was a gentle soul who loved watching sports, camping, going to movies with friends, attending concerts and spending time with his family and friends.
A gathering to honor Jay, for all his family and friends, will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Northside Luigi’s Restaurant from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice in his honour.

SHANNON MAUREEN STOCKTON of Coaldale, beloved wife of Mark Stockton and mother of Liam and Wyatt Stockton, passed away peacefully at St. Michael¹s Palliative Care Unit after a courageous battle with cancer, and her family by her side, on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at the age of 48 years. She was born April 28, 1966 in Calgary and resided in Toronto for a short time with her parents, and then returned to the Calgary area where she finished school. Shannon worked numerous years for Calgary Co-op until she started the next phase of her life. Besides her loving husband Mark, she is survived by her sons Liam (8) and Wyatt (7). She is also survived by her mother Margaret Kemp, sister Cindy (Fred) Giles, brother Shaun (Wendy) Kemp; in-laws Jack and Anita Stockton; one brother-in-law and three sisters-in-law, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Shannon was predeceased by her father Fredrick Kemp.

He was raised on a farm where he became very fond of all things John Deere. During his travels, he was introduced to Mary Braun. They were engaged and tied the knot in Taber in 1988 and enjoyed almost twenty seven wonderful years together.
