ARTHUR VALIN
1921 ~ 2015
Mr. Arthur “Art” Wilhelm Valin of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Ann Valin, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at the age of 94 years. Besides his beloved wife Ann, Art is survived by his sons Donald (Beatrice) and Gerald (Margaret); 8 grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by his daughter Judy Mohr; sisters Karen Ecklund, Mary Johnson, Violet Erlendson, Anne Way and Helga Rose; and brothers Andrew (Vera) Valin, Elmer (Edith) Valin, Ed Valin and Len Valin. BLACKMORE
April 2, 1916 – February 21, 2015
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of IRMA MAY BLACKMORE at the age of 98.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Frazer (Margie), Penny, Byng (Bonnie), Zane (Patricia), Vicky (Jay) Bangerter, Jack (Diana), Kazan, Kent, 31 grandchildren, 83 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. She will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, and good friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Dan; 3 children- Heather, Dexter, Teckla Heninger, and 3 siblings- Ada Payne, Charles Wynder, and Thelma Ockey. Mother was passionate about her family and helping others. She welcomed all family and friends travelling in the area. She was a woman of faith who led by example. She was always in motion, cooking, serving, quilting, crocheting, gardening, loving, and laughing.
The Blackmore family would like to invite all who have known and loved Irma Blackmore to her funeral service on Saturday, February 28th at 11:00 a.m. in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Temple Street Chapel, Cardston. GARBER
CLARA GARBER (nee Harty), beloved wife of Herbert Garber for 60 years, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 22nd, 2015 at the age of 84 years. Mom was born July 13, 1930 in Medicine Hat, AB and was raised in the Faith/Foremost area. On February 21, 1955, mom married the love of her life, Herbert Garber and together they raised their 6 children on the family farm. Mom¹s greatest love was her family. Her children, grandchildren and great -grandchildren brought her such wonderful joy. Over the years she loved to cook, bake, garden, sew and entertain. Sunday afternoons were often spent preparing her famous fried chicken for our supper guests. Her grandchildren, nieces and nephews fondly remember the wonderful meals she would prepare. Mom¹s faith was very important to her. She was a life member of the C.W.L.. Mom was always involved with 4-H through us kids and served as a leader for many years. Besides her loving husband Herbert, Clara is survived by her children; Theresa (Dennis) McTaggart, Donald (Teresa) Garber, Linda Robutka, Maureen (Anthony) Miller, Laura (Darwin) Balog all of Milk River, AB and Sheila Garber of Airdrie, AB, 14 grandchildren; Layne (Cary-Anne) McTaggart, Lindsey (Joel) Hougen, Lee McTaggart, Kyle (Kelsey) Garber, Marcie Garber, Cody Robutka, Jason Robutka, Kelsey Robutka, Danny Miller (Amanda Bock), Devon (Rachelle) Miller, Cheryl Miller, Brad (Marina) Balog, Darla (Blair) Seward and Carmen Balog (Patrick Klatt) and four great- grandchildren; Jordan Lodermeier, Carter Hougen, Payten Garber and Braxton Balog. She is also survived by her brothers Mark (Merelyn) Harty of Milk River, AB, Vincent (Ann) Harty of Lethbridge, AB, Conrad (Phyllis) Harty of Whitecourt, AB and Peter (Lynn) Harty of Carstairs, AB, one sister Marion (Harold) Halvorson of Foremost, AB, her special uncle, Gabriel Ehnes of St. Albert, AB and her special aunt, Maggie Shade of Edmonton, AB, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her parents Ferdinand and Anna Harty and Katherine Harty, brother Ralph Harty, sister and brother-in-law Magdalena (Manny) Lehr, mother and father-in-law Frank & Anna Garber, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Freda (Pete) Bruyckere, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Frank (Margaret) Garber, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ernie (Martha) Garber and her son-in-law Alan Robutka. Mom¹s generous and loving soul will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to a Prayer Service at ST. PETER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 321 Main Street, Milk River, AB on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 7:00 P.M. with Father Dominic Nguyen officiating. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at ST. PETER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 321 Main Street, Milk River, AB on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Dominic Nguyen Celebrant.

Mrs. Krystyna Tomaszewski of Bow Island, beloved wife of the late Mr. Stanley Tomaszewski, passed away on February 22, 2015 at the age of 87 years. OWENS
NORMA OLGA OWENS, wife of the late Allen William Owens of Magrath, passed away in Magrath on Wednesday, February 25th, 2015 at the age of 89. Norma was born on July 6th, 1925 to Joseph and Edna Tennant of Iron Springs. She attended elementary school at Iron Springs, high school at Picture Butte after which she graduated from Henderson Business College in Lethbridge, Alberta. After attaining her degree, she worked for the Alberta Treasury Branch in Lethbridge, Alberta. On June 20th, 1947, she married Allen William Owens and moved to Belle View Ranch (now known as the Owens¹ Farm). Norma found employment in the office of the Magrath Trading Co. In 1952, she became the editor of the Magrath Trading Co. Store News until her retirement in 1991. Norma was predeceased by her husband Allen in March 2012 and by her only sister Thelma Bailey of Camrose. She is survived by her son Barry (Debra) of Magrath, daughter Beverly (Claude) of Stony Plain; four grandchildren – Chad, Cam (Alica) Owens of Magrath, Derek and Casey Coupal of Stony Plain; four great grandchildren – Jesse, Quincy, Allen James (A.J.) and Grayson Owens as well as nieces and nephews. The Funeral Service at the Legacy Funeral Home Chapel, Cardston, Alberta on Monday, March 2nd, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Interment in the Magrath Cemetery, Magrath, Alberta. THOMSON, Marion
1923 – 2015
Marion Thomson of Calgary, AB passed away on Monday, February 23, 2015 following a brief illness at the age of 91. Marion will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Bruce (Debbie) and Alan (Karen). She was predeceased by her husband Alan. Marion was active in the church, Legion and community, and an avid supporter of the Calgary Humane Society. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 2, 2015 at KNOX PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH (3704 ­ 37 Street SW, Calgary) at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Mark Tremblay officiating.
