MR. HENRY CONRAD ABEN
, beloved husband of Mrs. Agatha Aben of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Monday, April 13, 2015 at the age of 86 years. Funeral arrangements to be announced once completed.

  BYER, Clara Anne
March 30, 1925-April 11, 2015
Clara A. Byer, sadly, passed away on April 11, 2015. She was 90. Clara is survived by her children Jim and Darcy (Don). Very special Granddaughters Nikki (Brian), Brandi (Trent). Extra special “Great” Grandchildren, Lincoln-James, Ty and Keely. Her sister Kaye and several nieces and nephews. Also lovingly remembered by Lincoln. She was predeceased by her loving husband Stanley, her parents, brothers Frank (Maxine), Edward (Frances), George (Joan), Vic, and her sister Rose (Frank). She was also predeceased by her brother-in-law Alex.
She was born on March 30, 1925, the oldest daughter of Frank & Angela Cesar, on their homestead southwest of Granum. In November 1947, she married Stanley Byer and moved onto the Byer family farm. Clara loved her home and spent many years actively involved in the community. She moved to the Porcupine Hills Lodge in Claresholm and then on to the WCCCC, where she happily spent her last years. Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma you were loved so much! At Clara’s request there will be no service. A private memorial will be held at a later date. Mrs. Theodora “Dora” Nolan, beloved wife of the late Mr. Bernard Nolan, passed away at Piyami Place in Picture Butte, on Friday, April 10, 2015 at the age of 91 years.

RUSTON NOVEMBER 7, 1931-
APRIL 8, 2015

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father and grandfather, MELVIN J. RUSTON, on Wednesday, April 8, 2015. Mel is the dear husband of Helen (married in June 1955), loving father of Rhonda (Derek), Sherry (Ward) and two beautiful grandchildren, Jessica and Billy, whom he adored. He is survived by his brothers Gerald in Toronto and Ken in Lethbridge. Also he is survived by his in-laws, Nick and Ann Lastuka, Mary Lane, Rose Beresnak and Fred Leverick as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Mel was born in Rocanville, Sask. He and his family moved a few times, eventually ending up in Lethbridge. He joined the Canadian Army in 1951. A highlight in his tour was to serve as Honour Guard for Sir Winston Churchill in Ottawa and the opportunity to speak with him; he felt so honoured. After leaving the Army, he came back to Lethbridge and was employed by Lethbridge Building Supplies. Mel was predeceased by his parents Melvin and Margaret Ruston, his in-laws Fred and Annie Leverick and brother-in-law Tom Lane. A Memorial Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 1:30 P.M. with Father Nathan Siray, officiating. Thank you to the staff of St. Therese Villa for their loving care provided to Mel, to Father Nathan Siray and to Cornerstone Funeral Home for their guidance and loving care of our family.   Lidia (Tokarski) Selwaniuk
1925 – 2015
Mrs. Lidia (Tokarski) Selwaniuk of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Jerry Selwaniuk, passed away peacefully at St. Michael’s Health Centre on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the age of 90 years.
Lidia was born in Brygowszczyna, Poland on February 13, 1925 and then after World War II she immigrated to Canada with her brothers and sisters. In 1949, she went on to marry Joseph Tokarski and together they had two children. After being in Taber for 2 years, she moved to Lethbridge where she remained until her passing.
The highlights of her life were her dedication to her family, her faith, and her service and generosity to others. She also loved to garden, cook and socialize with her many friends. Lidia was a member of the Polish Association, helping with many of their functions for many years. Lidia will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Lidia is survived by her loving daughter Mary (Gil) Ostrom; daughter-in-law Mary (Dan Christie) Tokarski; grandchildren Tracey (Greg) Johnson, Jason Ostrom, Amanda Tokarski; great- granddaughter Blaire Coates; as well as numerous friends.
She was predeceased by her parents Peter and Sophie Orszanski; her husband Joseph Tokarski; her son Leon Tokarski; her brothers Mike Orszanski and Waslyw Orszanski; and sister Helen Wojtowicz.
Vigil Rites will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 St. S., Lethbridge, AB.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 15 at ST. BASIL’S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604-13 St. N., Lethbridge, AB, with Father Nathan Siray, celebrant.
