JEAN CHRISTIANSON, passed away peacefully at the Edith Cavell Care Centre on Friday, April 17, 2015 at the age of 85 years. Funeral arrangements to be announced once completed.

 Betty Louine Copeland
(1934-2015)
passed away, with love all around her, on April 16, 2015. Betty was born January 6, 1934 in Innisfail, Ab. to Bob and Irene Brown. In 1939 she and her family, moved to Pincher Creek where her Dad ran the BA Bulk Station. After her high school education at Mathew Halton, Betty quickly found her niche in the financial and banking industry. On June 12, 1954 she married Ken Copeland. Initially Ken and Betty lived in Claresholm, then moved to Stettler, then Three Hills. The following year they moved back to Pincher Creek and built a home together at 817 Mountain Street where Betty lived right up until she moved to Crestview Lodge in Dec. 2011. Vista Village became her last home where she shared her life with the caregivers and residents in the Vista Village west cottage. During her life, she was very active in the United Church and donated her time to the “Thrift Shop, “Aquillas and Pricillas”, helping the ladies there. Betty use to love to read, play cards and go for coffee at the Co-op with her friends. Crafts were a big part of her home life. She loved to sew, quilt and crochet/bead Christmas decorations. She always had homemade cookies for coffee or tea time. Her Grandkids will tell you, “Grama always made the BEST sandwiches.” Camping and the outdoors was a big part of the family life. Betty leaves behind her daughters Cathy (David) Skierka, Carol Nelson, and daughter by choice Kizzy Handford. Betty has 5 grandchildren, Kelsey (Harald) Schaanning, Sarah (Josh) Brough, and Jerrad Skierka (Melissa Weatherill), Jamie Nelson and Devon Nelson. 4 great grandchildren Victoria & Oskar Schaanning, and Katelyn & Jesse Skierka. Also Melissa¹s children, Maddy, Isaac, Emily and Nathan. Betty’s three brothers Ron (Helen) Brown, Ken (Lynn) Brown, and Bill (Linda) Brown. sisters, Dene Ellwyn, Doris Patera, Starlene (Conway) Dillabaugh, Colleen (John) Carey, Marlene Paulson; brothers­in-law, Marvin (Vivian) Copeland and Monty Selby. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Good Samaritans Society, Box 1510, Pincher Creek, Ab. T0K 1W0. A memorial for Betty will be held at a later date.

Phillips, Keagan Arden James 1994-2015
Keagan Arden James Phillips was born on July 8, 1994 in Lethbridge, Alberta. He left us all far too soon on April 11, 2015. His mother, Jill Alexander, Step-Dad, Michael Wojcik, and brother, Brody will miss their precious son and big brother. He will be deeply missed by his girlfriend, Abbi. His memory will also be cherished by his father Carvel Phillips and partner, Gaye. Keagan also leaves behind loving grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Keagan grew up in and attended school in High River, Alberta. He made many friends in his school years. Keagan loved to play soccer, baseball, golf, and swim. His generous and helpful nature was appreciated by all. Keagan’s sense of humor, pranks and relentless teasing gave him much joy as he spread laughter to others. Keagan strongly believed in being kind to others and always tried to be a good person. After graduating from high school, he attended Lethbridge College and completed his first and second year Parts Technician apprenticeship. His love of the outdoors and animals drew him to work on a farm with buffalo. Keagan’s favorite hobbies included fishing, camping and spending time outside with all of his pets. As he grew older, he also enjoyed working on vehicles and dreaming of ridiculous ways to improve his truck. Keagan would dive whole-heartedly into projects before realizing a call was needed to his Step-Dad. A private family service was held to celebrate Keagan’s life on April 18, 2015 in High River, Alberta at the Snodgrass Funeral Home. ROBERT STEPHEN TAYLOR 1941 – 2015
Robert “Bob” Taylor of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Karen G. ( nee Allen) passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2015. Bob is also survived by son Stephen (Janet) of Victoria, B.C., daughters Melody Martin of St. Albert and Colleen (Drew) Desaunoy of Blairmore, and son Scott (Macksy) of Medicine Hat. Bob has nine grandchildren, whom he loved very much, Riley, Madison, Jeffrey, Sydney, Jayleen, Shivonne, Chance, Shayla and Thomas. Bob was predeceased by his father Steve, mother Maude (Jim Clarkson), brothers Don and Ed. Also survived by brothers Lyle (Janet) Clarkson, Randy (Jacquie) Clarkson and sisters Joyce (Daryl) Braumberger, Carol (Albrecht) Engler, sisters in law Barb Taylor and Myrt Taylor. Missing him will be special niece Kim (Fred) Gill and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was born in Medicine Hat, married Karen in 1962 and they had 52 wonderful years together. Bob began his bowling career at Park Lane Bowl in Medicine Hat, the family relocated to Lethbridge in 1973. He started at Capri Sports Bowl as mechanic then as Manager, later at Holiday Bowl until retirement. Bob spent many hours coaching Youth Bowling, working with YBC and Seniors, running tournaments and made countless friends. Bob loved Country music, the Toronto Blue Jays and his cats Weasel and Rat, dog – Rascal. Over the summer, for many years, Bob helped Karen with her jams and jellies, peeling and chopping fruit for the Farmer’s Market.
