In Celebration of EARL DOUGLAS FOXALL 1951 – 2015
To remember and celebrate Earl Douglas Foxall’s life, the family welcomes those who would like to pay their respect to the interment at Mountain View Cemetery, 1210 Scenic Dr. South, Lethbridge, AB at 11:00 am; with a memorial service to follow at the Coaldale Community Centre, 1217 – 20 Ave on May 9, 2015 beginning at 2:00 pm. Earl Douglas Foxall was the loving companion of Judy Dale Foxall for 27 years; born August 29, 1951, Doug grew up in Coaldale, AB with his parents, Faye Foxall-Oshiro and the late Earl J. Foxall (Squeak). Doug passed peacefully on February 2, 2015 in Coaldale, AB at the age of 63 after a long and courageous battle with Melanoma Cancer. He is survived by his children: Cory (wife Marcy), Naomi (husband Adam), Craig Foxall and his stepdaughters, Lisa and Cindy (husband Mario) Zielinski. Doug is also survived by his two brothers Wayne (wife Gayle) and Don (wife Cindy) Foxall, his uncles Doug, Lyle (wife Grace) and Russ Fairhurst, and cousins Craig and Kevin (wife Linda) Fairhurst. He had 7 grandchildren (Chantelle and Irelyn Foxall, Cody and Chase England, Dominic Zielinski, Jordan and Tiago Guevara). Doug often spoke about and thoroughly enjoyed being a granddad. He was predeceased by his father Earl J. Foxall, stepfather Jim Oshiro, and daughter Krystal Faye Foxall-England. Doug had a long history in Coaldale, as he was not only raised but intertwined himself in the many political aspects of the town. Aside from working his early years as a bee farmer in Glenwood, AB and throughout Creston Valley, BC where he made many longtime friends and acquired new family. Doug was on the Coaldale school board and Hospital board, he was on the Police Commission and spent 24 years volunteering for Coaldale and District Volunteer Services. Doug became Coaldale’s town Mayor in 2004 and served one term ending in 2007. He took over his father’s accounting services which he continued throughout his political career and he believed in making changes that would benefit the majority of townspeople. Doug was not afraid to voice his opinion; he was an advocate for what he believed in and spent many years as a Kinsmen member. Doug often downplayed his love for family pets, but would often be seen (or caught) playing with the family dogs and cats in hopes no one was looking. He was the first to take a pet to the vet shall it need medical attention and taught his children to respect the life of all creatures. Doug also felt most at home when camping or fishing and had an early start in boy scouts and Sea Cadets. He enjoyed mentoring firefighters beginning to volunteer and rose to the occasion in any crisis. Doug was taken too soon and the family would like to celebrate who he was and remembered what he brought into this life. Please join the family, May 9, 2015 in celebration of his life. In lieu of flowers, those who wish can donate to the Coaldale & District Emergency Services, Box 1571, Coaldale, AB T1M 1N3.
