Ellen leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, MaryEllen (Ward) Barnes and Jackie (Ross) Murray; her grandchildren, Heather Hay (Richard LeCain) and their children, Jennifer, Jordan and Marick, Tammy (Jim) Gresdal and their children, Morgan and Eden, Leeann (Nathan) Wendt and their children, Katie, Cass, Kianne and Carl Joe, Danielle (Alvin) Paul and their children, Darren, Abigail, Thomas and Murrie, and Patrick (Leeann) Murray; her brother-in-law, Harvey (Lona) Grose; her sister-in-law, Ruth Grose; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Ellen was predeceased by her husband, Walter Grose.
Ellen lived an amazing life with numerous years spent in Drumheller where she worked at the hospital and the Tourist Booth. She and Walter hit the road and spent close to 20 winters in Yuma, where they made many friends. Once they gave up the road they lived in Lethbridge. Ellen moved to Medicine Hat in 2010 and lived at South Country Village in her own apartment independently until her passing.
She was a natural caregiver and volunteer and even at her sickest she still didn’t want to bother the nurses. Ellen was all about being grateful…we would share a grateful thought daily with hers being “I’m grateful for all the loving care.”
Thank you to all the nurses who came into our lives in the past three weeks. To those that took the extra time, you are angels and we can’t thank you enough for your tender loving care.
Ellen has so many friends but she found great companionship with her special friend, Ted Roset. She cherished their Wednesdays together and started to plan the Friday before. Thank you to all her friends at South Country, too numerous to mention. She loved you all!
