Judy (Jude) Anderson

Judith Lynn Anderson made her transition on July 11th 2015 in Kelowna BC. She was surrounded by those who loved her as took her final steps home.

Judy was born in Lethbridge on October 2, 1940 to Mel and Jean Anderson. She grew up in Warner along with her brother Rick. In her lifetime she resided in Banff, Medicine Hat, Edmonton and Lethbridge and she recently relocated to Kelowna to be near her family.

Judy is survived by her daughters Zene Reeves, Kathy Kamei and Laurie Langcastor, her six grandchildren Kenzi Kamei, Sydney Condrashoff, Alexa Bannerman, Jackson Klein, Marshal Klein and Zan Klein, her beloved dog Maggie, daughter in law Christy Snow ,son in law Jon Araghi, best friend of 50 years Alma Strassburger Jones, grandcats, granddogs and many dear friends and extended family.

How does one describe a lifetime in mere paragraphs? The details of a life fade; it is the essence left behind that matters. Judy’s life path was filled with tremendous challenge. She contracted polio as a young girl and cancer as an adult. She struggled in other areas of life. Born out of hardship, Judy developed the ability to have great compassion for others. Her love and caring was unconditional. People were drawn to her big, warm smile and kind and caring heart. She generously gave of her time and money to those in need.

Judy experienced great joy in her later years. She experienced great love with her partner Ron McDonald who treated her like a queen. She delighted in her trips to the casino with Elsie, and her lunching and outings with Dan, Barb and her Lethbridge friends.

In Judy’s last weeks at Hospice, she expressed deep gratitude for her life. She loved her children, her grandchildren, her friends, and her fudgesicles. She showered everyone she met with kindness. As the song says, “In the end only kindness matters”. That was her essence, her legacy, what she leaves behind for all of us who loved her to live by, Unconditional Kindness.

A celebration of Judy’s life will take place on Mother’s Day, May 8th 2016 with internment at Temple Hill in Raymond. Details to follow. CLEMENTS

SHIRLEY FAYE CLEMENTS – Beloved Daughter, Sister, “Aunty”, “Mother to so many” and Friend passed away surrounded by her family in Taber AB on July 30, 2015. She is survived by her Mother, Shirley Clements, Sisters, Chris (Keith) Moline, Wendy (Ric) Bateman, Brothers, Bruce (Shellee), Barry (Brenda), and Bryan, along with many Nieces and Nephews whom she loved and cared for as the children she never had, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was predeceased by her father Harold Charles Clements.

Faye was born Nov 18, 1946 in Maitland N.S.W. Australia. At the age of 7 she immigrated to Canada with her family. Barnwell, AB was the place she called home and resided for most of her life. She was an active member of the community as she worked for both the Village of Barnwell and Canada Post as Postmaster. Faye was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served a mission to Italy and served in many church callings with her favorite ones being working with the little children in the primary organization of the Church. She always had a treat for any child who came to see her in the post office and spoiled many children with her beautiful dresses that she sewed. She adored and served the little children and youth in her life – and they in turn loved her.

Friends may meet the family on Sunday, August 2, 2015 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Barnwell LDS Chapel, or prior to the funeral service on Monday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.

Funeral Services will be held at the BARNWELL LDS CHAPEL on Monday, August 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Scott Nelson officiating. Interment will be in the Barnwell Cemetery.

Her family will forever be thankful to Dr. Wade Steed and the staff at the Taber Long Term Care who cared for her so tenderly in the final months of her life. Those that took the time to visit and care for Faye over the months will be forever appreciated. In lieu of flowers, donations in Faye’s Name to the Taber Long Term Care would be gratefully accepted.

Leonard (Mi’kssiikamm Red Crane) Crow Chief of the Blood Reserve, beloved husband of Doreen Yellow Wings, passed away on July 26. 2015 at the age of 60 years.

A family service will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Sunday August 2, 2015 at EDEN’S FUNERAL HOME, 2424 5th Ave, Fort Macleod, followed by a wake service at the OLD SAIPOYI GYM, Stand Off.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday August 3, 2015 at the OLD SAIPOYI GYM, Stand Off. Interment to follow at Crow Chief Family Plots.

Geng Pei Feng

1921 – 2015

Mr. Geng Pei Feng passed away peacefully at the Lethbridge Regional hospital on Tuesday July 28, 2015 at the age of 94 years.

Geng Pei was born Sha Ping He Shan Guang Dong May 27, 1921. During Geng Pei working life he was worked in Hong Kong, Macau, and Guangzhou. On October 15, 1949 he married Zhu Lu and, they raised 5 children. He was devoted to his family. In 1991 he came to Canada to join his younger daughter Jane. He enjoyed his retirement years and he loves to play Mahjong with friends.

He is Survived by his wife Zhu, and his sons Zhi Zhong (Xiu Zhen), Zhi Min (Jing Mei), Zhi Ming ( Chao Hong ) and his daughters Rui Zhen, Jane and eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren.

A Visitation will be held from 7:00 P.M. – 8:30 P.M. on Monday August 3, 2015 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610- 4 St. South, Lethbridge Alberta.

LARWILL

KERRY LYNN LARWILL, beloved wife of James Larwill, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at the age of 52 years.

Kerry was so loved and will be missed by her husband James Larwill, daughter Chelcy (Shawn) Markus, son Trever James (TJ) (Catlind) Reynolds, two grandbabies Brooklyn and James. She is also survived by her brother Devin McEwen mother Donna (Wil) Higham and stepmother Rita McEwen, father in law Ed (Kay) Larwill, mother in law Angie Seery, sister in law Lori Larwill, brother in law Dezi Larwill, very important friend Connie Moch as well as numerous family and friends in Lethbridge, Calgary, Winnipeg and Golden, B.C.

Kerry did all of her schooling in Lethbridge where she met and married Ronald Reynolds. They had trwo beautiful children Chelcy and TJ, moved to Golden B.C. amd after her divorce she met her soul companion James Larwill.

Kerry was grandmother to Chelcy’s daughter Brooklyn LaVane and TJ’s son James Joseph.

Kerry moved back to Lethbridge and sickness again overtook her but through all that time we loved and cherished her. Pain free and happy now she is seeing all those who went before her dad Fred McEwen, grandma Margaret Kenna and grandpa Joseph Kenna.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the GOLDEN BAPTIST CHURCH – 1343 Pine Drive, Golden, B.C. on Saturday, August 8th, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Richard Campeau officiating.

DAVID LLOYD LORENCZ

December 17, 1938 –

July 28, 2015

David Lorencz passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, after enduring a very lengthy illness. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, Brenda, his loving wife of 44 years. David will be sadly missed by family and long term friends throughout Western Canada and the United States. David enjoyed and took pride in his chosen, long-term career in Correctional Services both with the Provincial and Federal Governments. He was passionate about bird hunting, fishing and the care/maintenance and operations of his and other RVs. David loved the adventure that awaited and new friendships to be made during many years of RV travel. A celebration of David’s life will be held at a later date. Adrian “Andy” van Sluys of Fort Macleod, AB beloved husband of the late Frances van Sluys passed away suddenly on July 29, 2015 at the age of 80 years.

ZOOK

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of BETTY ZOOK, beloved wife of the late Elvin Zook, on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at the age of 88 years in Lethbridge, Alberta.

Betty was the ninth child born to Wilfred and Laura Demers on July 9, 1927. She grew up in Skiff, AB., moving to Lethbridge in 1944, after her step-mother, Nellie, helped her get a job in the Eaton’s shoe department. In 1945, Betty moved to Vancouver where she trained to be a telephone operator for B.C. Telephones. She returned to Lethbridge and married Elvin Benson Zook on March 29, 1948.

Betty’s mischievous sense of humor entertained family and friends alike. She loved to cook and decorate for family celebrations and holiday times. In 1998, her good nature and deep Christian faith helped her accept her M.S. diagnosis without complaint. Betty was generous and very proud of her family. She treasured the visits and parties where she could watch everyone interacting and making happy family memories.

Betty will be lovingly remembered by her devoted children; Terry (Roch) Bruneau, Jim (Linda) Zook, Tom (Susan) Zook, Paul (Kim) Zook, and Brian (Barbara) Zook, her loving grandchildren; Darren (Corina) Bruneau, Byron Bruneau, Rochelle (Dustin) Hines, Nathan Bruneau, Alison Zook (Pete) Alana (Brian) Matsuo, Brad (Stephanie) Zook, Jennifer (Aaron) Cockburn, Nicole (Brad) Seeman, Kaeley (Tyler) Burgess, Breanna Zook, Jaelyn Zook and Jon Zook, as well as her great-grandchildren; Raluca and Gabriel Bruneau, Talus Hines, Mya and Mack Zook, Natalie Cockburn and Madison, Brooklyn and Kamryn Seeman.

Betty is also survived by her step-sister, Kae McCallion and brother, Don (Pat) Demers as well as many extended family and friends.

Betty was predeceased by her husband, Elvin, on February 16, 2003 and by her parents, Laura and Wilfred Demers, two sisters and six brothers.
