Helen Atkinson
1929 – 2015
Mrs. Helen Atkinson of Lethbridge, beloved wife of Mr. Andy Atkinson, passed away in Lethbridge on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at St. Michael’s Palliative Care.
Besides her loving husband, Helen is survived by sons Brian (Jill) Atkinson of Fredericton, NB and Bruce Atkinson of Vancouver, BC.
At Helen’s request, a private family graveside service will be held at a later date.

Richard Drake
1951 – 2015
Richard Drake of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully, at Chinook Regional Hospital on Saturday, August, 15, 2015, at the age of 64 years. Richard Leslie Drake, is survived by his daughter Candice Drake; sons Joshua and Logan Drake; former wife Wendy Drake; sisters Beverely Pilling and Pamela Thompson; brother Roberta Drake; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Harry Kimber, beloved husband of Ida Kimber, passed away in Taber on Monday, August 17, 2015 at the age of 95 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 – 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, August 21, 2015 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.

Harry is survived by his wife of sixty two years, Ida; his children, Gail (Jim) Lamond of Vauxhall, Jacqueline (Art) Thiessen of Melfort, Saskatchewan, Glenna (Pete) Pepneck of Vauxhall, Tom (Linda) Kimber of Snowflake, Manitoba, Marilyn (Walter) Unruh of Hays, Larry (Mieko) Kimber of Fukuoka, Japan and Phyllis (Trevor) Kiriaka of Tappen, British Columbia. His grandchildren, Jonathan, Meagan, Chelsea (Denis), Jeffrey (Karin), Trevor (Whitney), Kimberley (Aaron), Christopher (Janet), Tracy (Tyler), Julie, Joshua, Clayton (Heather), Crystal, Emily (Terry), Seth (Presley), Cal (Lia), Adam, Lisa (Kurtis), Zacharry, Jacob, Alexandra, Kevin and Carson; twenty two great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Beatrice Stock, sisters-in-law Dolly, Inez and Barbara as well as many nieces and nephews.
Harry was predeceased by one grandchild, Jolene, sister Mary, brothers Jack, Clem, Horace, Bill, Ron, brother-in-law Sam Stock, sister-in-law Ivy.
Harry was born on July 25, 1920 to John and Gertrude Kimber in Tompkins, Saskatchewan, the fourth of eight children. He grew up on a sheep ranch and loved his border collies.
At the age of twenty one, Harry enlisted in the army along with two of his brothers. He served in the Medical Corps where his unit began operations in 1943 in Sicily, working its way up to Holland by the end of the war. Harry sent most of the money he earned to his widowed mother looking after the younger children. Thankfully all three brothers came home alive. The highlight for him was sailing back to Canada aboard the Queen Elizabeth.
After arriving home, the army offered training to any soldier wanting it. Harry chose barbering. During this time he met Ida Bergen and they were married on November 7, 1953. God blessed them with seven children, twenty two grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren.
Harry found employment in various small towns in Saskatchewan before settling in Vauxhall in 1960. His last job, ditch riding for the BRID, lasted fifteen years and was the one he enjoyed the best. It allowed him to live on a small acreage where he could raise all kinds of farm animals, including sheep! Harry retired in 1985, and although they moved into town, he continued to sheer sheep well into his eighties for whoever asked him.
Dad left to us, his family, a great legacy of faith in God and a love for His Word. Thank you Dad! We love you.

Charles James
1931 – 2015
Charles James of Lethbridge, beloved husband to Patricia James, passed away suddenly in High River on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at the age of 84 years.
Besides his loving wife Pat, he is survived by three children, Doug (Donna) James of Lethbridge, grandchildren Rylan and Jace; Kathy (Dave) Fairbairn of Lethbridge, grandchildren Kaeli (Dan) New, Kelsey; John (Robin) James of Lethbridge, grandchildren Alanna, Justin, Zachary, Ashton, Alannah and Jasmine.
Born on February 13, 1931 in Lethbridge, Alberta, to Avener and Reta James, Chuck was raised and educated in Lethbridge. After attending Lethbridge Collegiate Institute, he enrolled at the University of Saskatchewan, graduating in 1952 with a science degree in Agricultural.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Chuck joined Deere and Company starting as a summer student and eventually building a successful management career. While working in Peace River country, Chuck met and married his beautiful Patsy Boyd in 1954. Together they lived in various communities in western Canada, including Vernon, Prince George, Calgary, Camrose, Vermilion, Winnipeg, and finally returning to Lethbridge in the summer of 1973. Chuck went into business with Murray McKay at McKay Brothers Farm Implements until his retirement in 1992. Since then, Pat and Chuck have enjoyed a wonderful retirement golfing and travelling together.
Chuck James valued community service and found time to volunteer for various organizations including: Kinsmen, Boy Scouts of Canada, Probus (one of the founding members), the Alberta/BC Farm Implement Dealers Association, Lethbridge Air Show, Lethbridge College Foundation and Salvation Army Advisory Board. Chuck was a dedicated member of Rotary for over 40 years and a Past President of the Lethbridge Rotary East Club. Chuck was also an active, life time member of First Baptist Church. Most importantly, Chuck enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the grandchildren, both in Lethbridge and Whitefish. G’pa will be greatly missed!
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, August 22. 2015 at FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, 1614 – 5 Avenue South, Lethbridge, Alberta. Cremation. An inurnment will take place in Mountain View Cemetery.

Jordan Rombough
1995 – 2015

Jordan was born in Taber on June 12, 1995. He was a spirited, charming, handsome young man. Jordan always had a smile on his face that was infectious. As a child he was full of energy. He loved being a prankster, keeping mom, dad and big brothers Joel and Jarid on their toes. Jordan was a master of charming his way out of trouble with a smile and a twinkle in his eye. He loved building things with any material he could find, earning a â??MacGyverâ? nickname as a child. As a young adult, Jordan became an avid snowboarder and would hit the slopes with friends any chance he could get. His friends describe him as the rock that would lend an ear, always willing to listen or lend a hand. Jordan did everything with a full heart and with all the effort he had. He made friends easily and was cherished by all. Until we meet again dear Jordan, our son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. We will miss your life spark, generosity, kind spirit and laughter.

Our Dad, Grandpa, Uncle, friend DAN KOLASKO, formerly of Del Bonita, Alberta, passed away at St. Michael’s Palliative Care Unit on August 19, 2015 after struggling with cancer at the age of 80 years.

KORTH
JEAN WOOD KORTH, nee Turnbull, beloved wife of the late Henry Korth, of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the age of 88 years.

STRATE
HARRIET R. STRATE, daughter of Ephraim Lawrence Ririe and Mary Elzada Bingham and beloved bride of Fredrick C. Strate of Magrath, passed away in the Raymond Hospital on August 18th, 2015.
She is survived by her children Mona Cluff (Sam), Leota Heaven (John), Rick Strate (Reva), Morgan Strate (Denise), 16 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren; one sister, Keren Benton, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by grandsons, Kurt Russell Strate and Shaun Waterfield, by brothers Arnold, James, Bill, and Mark Ririe, and sisters, Elizabeth Bennett, Madge Minor, and Mary Lue Minor.
Harriet was born and spent most of her life in Magrath. She attended secretarial school in Calgary. She married Fred Strate December 6th, 1944. She was active in the LDS Church. She loved to serve. She was proficient in sewing, quilting, cooking, crocheting and knitting. Family was the most important thing to Harriet. She supported her husband, children, grandchildren, and her great grandchildren in all of their activities.
Friends may meet the family at the MAGRATH STAKE CENTER on Thursday, August 20th, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. or at the Church on Friday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.
The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, MAGRATH STAKE CENTER on Friday, August 21st at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in the Magrath Cemetery.

ETHEL VICTORIA SCOTT
(nee Harper)
With great sadness the family of ETHEL VICTORIA SCOTT announces her passing on August 18, 2015 at the age of 96.
Born on the family farm at Mildred, Saskatchewan to James and Christine Ellen Sutherland Harper; she was the third youngest of 9 children. She was predeceased by her Husband, Stanley Scott, a granddaughter, her parents, all her siblings and all her cousins.
She is survived by her Children, Ron (Julie) Scrimshaw, Lois (Bill) Harris, Dennis (Mary) Scott and Lesley (Herman) Riegling, 19 Grandchildren, 54 Great Grandchildren and 6 Great, Great Grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mom was an excellent homemaker and a wonderful mother. She had an uncanny ability to make a very comfortable, welcoming home regardless of the circumstance of the house. She was a talented seamstress, great decorator, outstanding cook, fabulous pastry baker and great gardener.
She was very well read, especially with the scriptures and the teachings of the modern day Prophets, even though she only went to the fifth grade. Her schooling was cut short as she started at the age of 9, when she was able to walk the 5 miles to and from school. At the age of 14, she had to quit to nurse her ailing mother and care for her younger sister and brother.
She was a faithful convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with an unwavering testimony of its truthfulness. She served as Relief Society President and in the primary. She was exceedingly pleased that her sons and their wives, most of her grandsons, one granddaughter and her older great grandsons served missions.
Mom’s occupation was that of a cook. She began her career in a Northern Saskatchewan sawmill cookhouse on a wood burning stove and finished her career at the age of 76 after 26 years of service at Erickson’s Family Restaurant. For a period of time she and her husband owned a restaurant in Prince Rupert, B.C.
The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, GARDEN PLACE CHAPEL, in Magrath, Alberta on Saturday, August 22nd at 11:00 a.m. Friends may meet the family at the Church on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment to follow in the Magrath Cemetery.

DORIS LORAINE (STRETCH) ZOBELL
Born March 23, 1922 in Ponoka Alberta. Passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015 in Raymond Alberta, beloved wife of the late John Oliver ZoBell.
Doris was raised on the family farm near Ponoka Alberta moving to Raymond in 1941. Doris married John O ZoBell of Raymond on May 1, 1943. Doris and John were blessed with eight children: Lorraine (Errol) Tewson of White Rock BC, Robert D ZoBell (deceased 1949), John W (Ellen deceased) and (Arlene) ZoBell of Raymond, Kenneth R ZoBell of Cedar City Utah, Dale R and (Susan) ZoBell of Logan, Utah, Gordon L and (Joan) ZoBell of Raymond, Herbert W and (Paige) ZoBell of Thunder Bay Ontario and Richard H ZoBell (deceased 2010). Doris is also survived by 28 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Doris and John lived out their lives on the family farm located west of Raymond. Doris was an active member of the LDS church throughout her married life. She was a lifetime member of the Raymond Hospital Auxiliary. Doris was noted for her service to the disadvantaged, always looking to lift and assist the hands that hang down wherever she could. Doris loved her family, her church and her community. She will be sadly missed by her very large and extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, WELLING CHAPEL, with Bishop Randal Wilde officiating. Friends may meet the family prior to the Funeral Service on Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment to follow at the Temple Hill Cemetery, Raymond.
