Mary Chuen

Ms. Mary Chuen of Lethbridge, formerly of Bow Island, passed away peacefully at St. Therese Villa on Sunday, August 23, 2015.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 7:00pm and 8:00pm, on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4th Street South, Lethbridge.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm, on Monday, August 31, 2015 at SOUTHMINSTER UNITED CHURCH, 1011 – 4th Ave S, Lethbridge. Interment to follow in the family plot in MOUNTAIN VIEW CEMETERY.

Florence Monnette

1948 – 2015

On the evening of Wednesday, August 26, 2015, Florence Monnette passed away peacefully at the Fort Macleod Health Centre at the age of 67 years. Florence was born on June 10, 1948 in Eaglesham, Alberta and was blessed by the love of her family. Florence will be lovingly remembered by her mother, children, numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and extended family. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2517 3 Avenue, Fort Macleod, Alberta on Friday, September 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. For those who wish to pay their respects to Florence, viewing will take place at Holy Cross Catholic Church between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. Interment will take place at Union Cemetery. In honour of Florence Monnette, memorial contributions may be made directly to Special Development Unit in care of Fort Macleod Health Centre, Box 520, Fort Macleod, Alberta T0L 0Z0. Cora Van’t Hof
1933 – 2015
 Cornelia “Cora” Van’t Hof (née van Buren), passed away peacefully in Taber, to be with her Lord and Saviour on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at the age of 82 years.
 A private burial service will held at the Taber Memorial Garden prior to the funeral service. 
 The Funeral Service will be held at the First Christian Reformed Church, 3902 Heritage Drive, Taber on Monday, August 31, 2015 at 12:00 P.M. Condolences may be forwarded by visiting our website at http://www.southlandfuneral.com. 
 Left to mourn her passing and cherish her memory are her children, Joanne (Simon) Bekkering of Taber, Edith (Bill) Ardiel of Calgary and Joe (Dorothy) Van’t Hof of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; grandchildren Anna (Jeff) Loomis, Cory (Mark) Gillrie, Henry (Joanna) Bekkering, Ross (Carli) Bekkering, Janelle Bekkering, Rachel Ardiel, Jonah Ardiel, Mariah Van’t Hof and Alyssa Van’t Hof;  great grandchildren Solomon Loomis, Marion Loomis, Avery Gillrie, Holden Gillrie, Clark Gillrie and Elizabeth Bekkering.  Cora is survived by her brother Jacobus and her sisters, Dirkje, Joosje Jasina, Lena and Margje as well as numerous extended relatives all in the Netherlands.
 Cora was predeceased by her loving husband of fifty eight years Aart; parents Klaas and Dirkje van Buren; brothers Pieter Jan, Ernst and Dirk; sister Maria and twin sister Huigerina all of the Netherlands.
 Cora was born on June 26, 1933 in Nieuw-Lekkerland, Netherlands.  Along with her husband Aart, she immigrated to Canada in 1955 and settled in Ontario. In 1980 the family moved to Taber.
 Cora led a life of giving and compassion. She had many passions, but undoubtedly they all involved helping and supporting those who were disadvantaged. Cora was known for her homemade soup, “boterkoeks” all given in love to those people who had somehow found themselves in need of a warm meal, a helping hand or an embracing hug. 
 For many years Cora maintained a green house, attached to her home, where she nurtured plants. Those who came to visit often left with a plant in hand. 
 She unequivocally loved her children and grandchildren, but her heart was big enough to include all young children and especially babies.
 Although she had many health challenges thorough out her life, they never prevented her from expressing love to family, friends and even strangers.

1944 – 2015
 Joseph Meier, beloved husband of Shirley Meier, passed away in Lethbridge on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the age of 70 years.
