EVA DAHL ANDERSON passed away at the Good Samaritan’s Society in Raymond on Monday, September 7, 2015 at the age of 79 years. Beth Hummel, beloved wife of the late Robert Hummel, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Milk River Long Term Care at the age of 94 years.

A private Family Graveside Service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Milk River Cemetery.

A Memorial Service will follow at 12:00pm at ST. PETERS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Main Street, Milk River, AB, with Marion Martin officiating.

KISTNER

DAVID ALLAN KISTNER, of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Terri Kistner, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Monday, September 7th, 2015 at the age of 45 years.

He is also lovingly remembered by his children, Shayla Kistner and James Beasley, mother Judy Kistner of Vernon, B.C., sister Julia Kistner (Chris) of Edmonton, AB., his special aunt Sandy Clay of Lethbridge as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

David was predeceased by his grandparents Florence and Emil Fix and uncle Tom Fix.

David fought a hard battle with cancer. He is now at peace and is free of pain. He was a loving husband, son, father and brother. He will always be missed and never forgotten.

A Celebration of David’s Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, on Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 1:00 – 3:00 P.M.

MOODY, Robert George

June 15, 1942 – September 5, 2015

On Saturday, September 5, 2015, Robert George Moody passed away peacefully at the age of 73 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Leona Mae (Grant) and Robert James Moody. He is survived by his brother James (Brenda) of Lethbridge, his sister Tyrrel Lou of Seattle, Washington, and brother Charles (Sandra) of Sicamous, BC. He is remembered by nephews Greg, Randy, Robyn and niece Katherine and their families, nephew Ryan and niece Jessica, and nephew Tanner and niece Savannah. Robert is also remembered fondly by the family of the late Patricia Dewitt, many cousins and many friends in Springbank, Bearspaw, Calgary, Lethbridge and places where he travelled. Robert was born on June 15, 1942 in Calgary. He graduated from the University of Montana (Missoula), with a B.Sc. degree in Phys. Ed., and later from the University of Calgary with a degree in Education. Robert loved to play – from the ski hills of Banff to the hockey rinks of Briar Hill. Throughout his life he was an avid sportsman. He loved the Calgary Stampeders, Calgary Flames, Calgary Canucks Rugby, and of course, the Bum Biters. He was a fan and supporter of the Pardners chuckwagon, the Firewagon chuckwagon, and volunteered with the Calgary Stampede for fifteen years, sharing his experiences with many friends at the Indian Village. Robert opened the Springbank family property to the ALS “Betty’s Run” and was an active member of the Springbank Lions Club. Many thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at the Foothills Medical Centre and the amazing Doctors, Nurses and Staff at the Carewest Sarcee Hospice for their compassionate care. Shigeharu “Dick” Sawa

1940 – 2015

Shigeharu “Dick” Sawa of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Carol Sawa, passed away on September 5, 2015 at the age of 75 years.

Dick was born on June 9, 1940 in Stave Falls, BC to a family of thirteen. He married Carol Friesen on March 5, 1966, to whom he was happily married to for 49 years.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and especially cooking. He was well known for his ginger beef. Dick was a self-taught “jack of all trades”, which included renovating homes, plumbing, electrical work, drywall and outdoor landscaping.

Dick is survived by his daughter Susan (Clifford Greg Helm); sons Dean Sawa and Glen (Tammy) Sawa; grandchildren Marie and Amber Walsh and Shaelee and Shelby Sawa; siblings Lois (Yosh) Hattori, Diana (Isao) Nakamura, Sharon (Tom) Takahashi, Roy (Jackie) Sawa, Larry Sawa, Patricia (Doug) Smith, Harry Sawa; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Besides his loving wife Carol, he was predeceased by his parents Usaburo and Chizuko Sawa; brother Daniel Sawa; and sisters May Boessenkool and June Kanomata.

Dick will always be remembered for his kind smile, good sense of humour, and his strong work ethic. He was always willing to help and be counted on to drop everything in a moments notice. He loved his family and cherished his granddaughters. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:30pm on Friday, September 11, 2015 at Coaldale Cemetery – Mennonite Section.

WOLF CHILD

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of a Loving Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Nephew and Friend, BERNARD WOLF CHILD, who passed away suddenly on August 31, 2015, in Moses Lake (Cardston), Alberta at the age of 56 years.

Bernard was born at the Blood Indian Hospital in Cardston, Alberta on June 9, 1959 to (the Late) Cecilia Gros Ventre Boy and (the Late) Anthony “Tony” Wolf Child. Being raised in a large family, Bernard was taught the value of “hard work” and the importance of family by his parents and older siblings. He received his early education from Cardston High School and his apprenticeship training in Mechanics. He was most notably known for his skills and abilities as a “jack of all trades.” Bernard found full time employment with Kainai Board of Education as a Janitor at the Tatsiikiisaipo’p Middle School. He married his wife Beverly and together they raised their children and grandchildren in a nurturing, loving and welcoming home. Bernard loved and adored his children and grandchildren, always showing encouragement and fatherly support whenever they needed him.

Filled with boundless energy, Bernard was also an avid sportsman; excelling both in Fastball and Hockey. Bernard was known as somewhat of a local “globe trotter”. His love for sport, his employment and spirituality led him on many journeys with family, friends and team mates across Canada and the United States. He embraced life with endless enthusiasm.

Bernard always greeted people with a smile; a characteristic befitting of such a kind-hearted, giving, gentle soul. He will be remembered for his enthusiasm, dedication and “hard work” mentality, especially his ambitious, outgoing personality that was felt by all who knew him.
