HENRIE

ELLIS DANIEL HENRIE, husband of Louise Walton Henrie, passed away in the Creston Valley Hospital, Creston. B.C. on September 27, 2015 at the age of 97 years.

Friends may meet the family at the Legacy Funeral Home, Cardston on Saturday, October 10th, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the interment in the Taylorville Cemetery.

HUBER

1957-2015

BARRY LEE “CHUCK” HUBER, beloved husband of Della Huber of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at the Chinook Regional Hospital, on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the age of 58 years.

Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his children Scott (girlfriend Alyssa) Huber, of Lethbridge, Kim (Brett) Dyck and their son Everett of Pincher Creek, siblings, Diane (Wayne) Tizzard of Lethbridge, Glen (Leslie) Huber of Sundrie, Barb (Henry) Zdun of Brooks and Brenda Huber of Lethbridge as well as his brothers-in-law Wayne (Rachel) Conner of Edmonton and Terry Conner of Taber. Barry is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his father Adolf Huber, brother-in-law, Barry Dickout and parents-in-law, John and Agnes Conner.

Barry was employed with Kawneer for over 30 years. Barry was a member at the Magrath Golf Club and was an avid golfer in the off season when he wasn’t watching the Calgary Flames (the biggest Calgary Flames fan there ever was). Barry also enjoyed bowling, camping and Saturday Night Poker at the house. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with close friends and family. Barry will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 1:00 P.M.

PITTMAN

It is with great sadness the family of MICHAEL BERNARD LAWRENCE PITTMAN announce his passing on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at the age of 25 years.

He will always be lovingly remembered by his parents, Lawrence and Marina Pittman of Foremost, his sister Alyssa (Jason) of Vulcan and grandmothers Shirley Pittman of Milk River and Jurreen Albert of Coutts. Also left to mourn his loss are his aunts and uncles Denise (Leon) Wensmann, Diane (Larry) Wiltshire and Karen (Kevin) Valgardson as well as numerous cousins and extended family.

Michael was predeceased by his grandfathers, Bernard Pittman and Johan (Hans) Rudhart.

Michael was born on May 8, 1990 and grew up on the family farm, south of Foremost, in the Lucky Strike area. He attended Foremost School from ECS to grade 12. After his high school graduation, he completed the Agriculture Technology program at the Lethbridge College. He then took a break from his education to fulfill his dream to experience farming in Australia. He spent six months in Australia on the AgriVenture program, where he was able to learn about their farming practices, experience the culture and travel the country. When he returned from Australia, he went on to continue his education at the University of Lethbridge and achieved his goal of earning a degree in Agricultural Studies this past December.

While Michael was working on his post-secondary education, he worked five summers as a field technician for the chemical company, BASF, near Coalhurst, AB. Michael loved his job there and was excited when he began working there full-time in January. He had a very promising future and was excited to begin this new chapter in his life.

A Memorial Service will be held at the FOREMOST COMMUNITY HALL, 802 – 1 Avenue West, Foremost, AB on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 11:00 A.M.

September 9, 1919 – October 6, 2015

Aaltje (Alice) Reitsma nee van Ryssen, a devoted and caring mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, and friend to many. It is with great sadness that we announce Alice’s passing, she will be fondly remembered by all whose lives she shared in. She loved, guided and cherished her family, she has left behind a great foundation upon which her family can grow. Left to celebrate her life are her three daughters, Lizzie Fox, Lethbridge, Marijke Reitsma, Lethbridge, Dorothy (Darren) Gierulski, Crowsnest Pass, her grand children, Laine Gomany (Sharryl) Lethbridge, Simon (Nathalie) Long, Crowsnest Pass, David (Robyn) Long, Brandon MB, Adam Long (Shelby Flath), Calgary, her great grandchildren,Jared and Aiden Gomany, Nolan, Isabella and Marlee Long,her sister Lien, Nederlands sister in law Ali, other family in Holland, her nephew John (Hilda), Dykslag, nieces Nancy Bouwman, Willie (Denis) Coutts and many great nieces, great nephews and wonderful friends. She was predeceased by her mother and father, her 3 bothers and 1 sister, her beloved husband Jochem. Alice emigrated from Holland with Jochem and their two daughters back in 1952 to Lethbridge to start a new chapter, where they hoped to provide a better life for their family. Over the years Alice worked very hard at numerous jobs gaining experience along the way. She retired from the Campbell clinic in 1992 after many years of service for the clinic doctors whom she fondly remembered. Alice loved to travel back to Holland to visit family, she loved to watch and care for her grandchildren. One of the things Alice’s family and friends will remember is she enjoyed riding her bike around the city going here and there up until a grand age of 89. Alice lived a simple but fulfilling life.

Jack Shaw

1919 – 2015

Mr. Jack Shaw of Milk River, Alberta, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Frances Margaret Shaw, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 5, 2015, at the age of 95 years and 10 months. He received excellent care at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital after a sudden fall.

Jack was a caring and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was devoted to his wife Margaret of 68 years. Jack was born in Airdrie, Alberta, December 9, 1919, and grew up in Airdrie and Calgary. Jack and Margaret were married May 29, 1944. After Jack returned from overseas they lived in Airdrie where they raised their two daughters. Jack worked with his family on many construction projects. He had a career change in 1959 from building to Construction Inspector for the Alberta Department of Public Works and the University of Calgary. Retirement in 1976 brought them to Milk River. Jack was a craftsman creating many wooden projects to the delight of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an avid reader, loved camping and a computer buff up until five years ago. He made his home in the Prairie Rose Lodge in Milk River since 2003 until his passing.

He was an active member of the United Church of Canada and supported the camp ministry and AOTS. Jack’s deep and personal faith in a loving Heavenly Father gave him peace and his unspoken walk of faith was seen and felt by all who knew him. This is his legacy to the family he loved deeply.

Jack is survived by his two daughters – Carole (Morris) Fisher, their daughters Amy (Shane) Ridgeway and daughter Esmae, and Naomi (Dave) Markert and daughter Inez; and his other daughter Patricia (Jim) Howitt and their daughters Karen (Greg) MacCollum and their sons Nate and Fraser, daughter Jackie (Neil) McKenzie and their children Owen and Clare and daughter Dawn (Jim) Rimmer and their sons Brooks and Barrett. Jack is also survived by one brother Alfred Shaw. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret and his parents Lewis and Clara Shaw, brothers Herb and Ken Shaw.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, October 10, 2015 in ST. MATTHEW LUTHERAN CHURCH, 113 – 1 Ave., S.E. Milk River, AB with Pastor Jeremy Richert officiating. A Private Family Interment will be held in Airdrie on Monday, October 12, 2015 at 1:00 pm.
