Blanche Christianson Edgar was born in Magrath, Alberta. As part of a family of 8 children, Blanche took pleasure helping to take care of her 4 little sisters. She moved to Fort Macleod for her first job. Blanche lived in many communities in Southern Alberta over her 93 years, returning to Fort Macleod in the early 1980’s. She was an active leader and hard-working volunteer in each community where she lived. She loved music and singing, was an outdoor enthusiast and avid sportswoman. Blanche was an independent and strong woman who was driven by her passion to help others; she saw obstacles only as challenges to overcome.

Blanche was the heart of her family keeping everyone connected. She loved each and every one of her family members, and loved to spend as much time with them as possible. She was very generous with family and friends: giving special cards, letters, flowers, and gifts to them was a highlight of her life. Blanche had an ability to connect with people in a way that made them feel special and valued. She left us a legacy of loving and giving.
