JOHNSTON

It is with great sadness and much love we say goodbye to our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

DORIS JOHNSTON (ST. GODDARD), passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2015 with her family by her side at the age of 83 years.

Mom was predeceased by her husband Errol, her brothers John (Ellie), Merrill (Shirley), Lawrence (Dora) and sister Evy (Bud). She is survived by one loving sister, Diane (Julian).

She will be forever in the hearts of her children; daughters Tannis (Steve), Karen (Vern) and Kim (Craig), sons Dana (Bernie) and Craig (Pam), grandchildren Tania Lidster (Steve), Rhett Borton (Tamara), Sanna Martyniuk, Meaghan and Taylor Johnston, Alexis and Jayden Johnston, Julian Johnston (Jenny), Chyna Chandler (Tristan) and Fallon Stokell (Dave), great-grandchildren Wade and Daylen Lidster, Stevie Martyniuk, Maverick Johnston, Nixon and Max Stokell.

Mom and dad resided in Westbourne, Manitoba until dad’s passing, when she moved to Portage La Prairie. Later on, she moved to Lethbridge, Alberta.

Mom was a great seamstress, not only out of need to provide but for her passion to do so, like making an outfit during the day to wear that night. She also loved her sports, from playing baseball to curling to darts, even competing on the National level for darts. Mom loved to hunt and shoot, collecting her fair share of geese with her husband and friends.

Mom, above all, the taste of your amazing cinnamon buns will never be forgotten.

Mom has had several health issues through the years, but it never stopped her from being positive about life. She always had a mischievous twinkle in her eyes and a ready smile. Mom has left an empty space in the hearts of all she loved and all who loved her. But she is no longer in pain.

We love you, Mom!

He was a life-long fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Calgary Stampeders, Boston Red Sox, Atlanta Braves and professional wrestling. Last spring, he traveled to Vancouver to watch the Leafs play live for the first time. At home, he spent time watching sports and keeping abreast of the news, doing crossword puzzles and maintaining his stamp collection. Steve passed away on December 4, 2015 in South Okanagan General Hospital after being diagnosed with cancer in the summer. He was pre- deceased by his brother Lloyd and sister Bernice of Lethbridge, his sister Stafca of Fort Macleod, Alberta and his son David of Edmonton.
