CHRISTINA ZEHN

(1951 – 2016)

On the morning of January 28th, the dearest heart we’ve ever known, Christina Zehn, bid us farewell. We are so deeply saddened by her departure but profoundly inspired by her life. Christina had a rare inner beauty, dignity and gentleness that deeply touched us all.

Being around her was like being bathed in sunshine and goodness. She was the embodiment of compassion; gracious, kind and loving to every living thing as we have ever known. We’re going to miss her sparkle, her radiant smile and her laughter; it was music to our ears.

Christina’s life was like a multi- faceted crystal. Her love of theatre, music and dancing brought out the playful side in all of us. She had a magical quality for fashion and flair; like living art; she always looked beautiful.

Her home was a refuge for dogs and cats, birds and fish. She cared for everything that needed care, selflessly gave of her time, always putting others first.

Christina had a deep love and respect for nature and a great sense of adventure which took her on many trips from hiking in the mountains to exploring the night sky. In her younger years she loved spending time at the cabin in the Crowsnest Pass. At home, the coulees were her sanctuary, her special place where she appreciated nature.

Our precious Christina taught us so much and we are forever grateful and privileged to have been a part of her life.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Sisters Irena and Wanda (Philip); brother Wally; nieces Paige and Courtney and great niece, Blair. Christina was pre-deceased by her parents, Carolina and Walter.

A Memorial in Christina’s honour will be held at Southminster United Church on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 2 p.m. with reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to an animal care charity of your choice.
