HENNIGAR

February 27, 1938

– December 22, 2016

SHIRLEY MARJORIE HENNIGAR, passed away at the St. Michael’s Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband of sixty one years, Warren; son Michael (Penny); grandson Christopher (Christine); great-grandchildren: Tatum, Chase, Colton and Zia, all from Lethbridge; brother Edward (Joanne) of South River Ontario, sister Gail (Maverick) and brother Douglas, both of Brampton Ontario.

She was predeceased by her mother, Mural, her stepfather Raymond Dunk and sister Darlene.

Shirley will be sorely missed by everyone. She enjoyed her family and travelling to see them and her friends across North America. Shirley was a friend to all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Michael’s Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Iris Wasilenko

1945 – 2016

Mrs. Iris Marie Wasilenko of Lethbridge, Alberta, beloved wife of 50 years of Mr. Robert “Bob” Wasilenko, passed away peacefully after a brief courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the age of 71 years. Iris was the second born child to her loving parents Tom and Katie Wasylyshin on January 8, 1945 at the Borden, Saskatchewan Hospital. She attended Turtle Lake School with her sisters Darlene and Marilyn until grade 8, then was bussed to Borden High School by bus driver John Puto. Iris knew at an early age that she wanted to be a teacher. When she graduated grade 12, she enrolled at the Teacher’s College in Saskatoon much to her father’s apprehension. Finally he relented and let Iris attend. Iris spent her first two years teaching in Big River, Saskatchewan. On August 6, 1966, Iris married Bob Wasilenko whom she met at Teacher’s College. They married in the Radisson, Saskatchewan Greek Catholic Church. Being blessed they enjoyed 50 special, memorable, LOVING years together. Very special days for Iris were the days her sons Gregory Robert and Trevor Thomas John were born. Iris’ passions in life were her time spent in the classroom working with young children and her love of walking, being able to spend time talking to God and enjoying nature. However, her greatest joy in life was being married to her husband Bob and being a mother to her two sons Greg and Trevor. Besides her loving husband Bob, Iris is survived by her sons Gregory Robert of Vancouver, BC and Trevor Thomas John (Starla) of Lethbridge, AB; sister Darlene (John) Puto of Edmonton, AB and brother Melvin (Gisele) Wasylyshin of Borden, SK. Iris was predeceased by her parents Tom and Katie Wasylyshin of Borden, SK; sisters Marilyn (John) Petrun of Borden, SK and Corinne (Jeff) Baldwin of North Battleford, SK. For those who wish, memorial donations in Iris’ name may be made to the Jack Ady Cancer Centre, Alberta Cancer Foundation, 1A129, 960 – 19 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, T1J 1W5. At Iris’ request there will be no funeral service, but rather that close family be included in Graveside Prayers at the Borden Saskatchewan Cemetery.

Peto Nicas

1924 – 2016

Mr. Peto Nicas of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Marie Nicas, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at the age of 92 years. He was born January 2, 1924 in Lethbridge, Alberta. He owned and operated McGuire’s Men’s Wear for 50 years. He was an active member of the Lethbridge Y’s Men’s Club. Once he retired, he was able to fully enjoy golfing at the Lethbridge Country Club, playing Crib at Parkridge Estates, and he really enjoyed riding his bike. He loved traveling and spent many years doing just that, with his love, Marie. Peto is survived by his four children, Andy, Phil (Sonia), Greg (Viva) and their children William and Kate, Pam (Duane) Ptycia and their children Dan (Aaryn) and David (Anastasia). He is also survived by his two brothers John (Dite) and Jim (Rosemarie). Peto was predeceased by his loving wife Marie, his grandson Michael Nicas, and his mother & father. To follow Peto’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. A Come & Go Reception will be held from 2:00pm – 4:00pm on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at COUNTRY KITCHEN CATERING, 1715 Mayor Magrath Drive South (lower level). Emil Radke
1928 – 2016
 Emil Radke, beloved husband of Hilde Radke, passed away in Taber on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the age of 88 years.
 Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 – 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.

 Emil is survived by Hilde, his loving wife of sixty one years and their four children Edeltraut Radke (Kevin Schmutz) of Sedgewick, Ron (Belinda) Radke of Taber, Linda Radke (Doug Banks) of Coaldale and Jaden Schafer (Jannis Hanson) of Taber; grandchildren Erica, Adriane (Mark), Shane, Ethan and Tyler (Larissa); great grandchildren Sharissa, Shenae, Noah, Audrey and Paislee. He is also survived by his brother Gerhard (Marjorie) Radke.
 He was predeceased by his parents Gottlieb and Hulda Radke, brother Oscar and sister-in-law Annette Radke.
 Emil was born on October 12, 1928 in Kulm, Bessarabia. He immigrated to Canada in May of 1953 and married Hilde Porsch on May 28, 1955. They moved to Calgary eventually returning to Taber in 1963 and raising their family on the farm north east of Taber. Emil was a carpenter by trade and also enjoyed farming. On occassion, Emil and Hilde would go dancing at the German Harmony Club. Emil was always laughing and joking with friends and family. His passion was his grandchildren and great grandchildren, always making time for them. Emil will be missed, always loved and remembered by his family and friends.

SADLER

JOYCE ELIZABETH SADLER, formerly of Winnipeg and beloved spouse of the late Gerald “Jerry” Sadler, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at the age of 87 years.

She is survived by her son Greg (Alice) Sadler, daughter Sharon (Randy Noss) Selwyn, grandchildren Eric Sadler and Ryan (Jamie) Sadler, great- grandson Issac and her nephew Rick (Pat) Dorwood.

Besides Jerry, she was predeceased by her parents, her numerous siblings and her daughter Kathy.

A Private Family Service will be held at a later date.
