1983 – 2017
Amy Ruth Anderson (nee Gough), beloved wife of Ryan Anderson of Wetaskiwin, passed in Edmonton on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the age of 33 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 – 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, February 9, 2017 between 7:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. and also at the church prior to the funeral service on Friday, February 10, 2017 between 9:30 A.M. and 10:40 A.M.

Betty Jean Dudley Fortier September 23, 1924 –

February 4, 2017

Passed away at the Strathmore Hospital surrounded by Bill and her family. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.


GALLANT

1925 – 2017

It is with sadness and gentle relief that the family of MURIEL JEAN (MELLOR) GALLANT, announce her passing on Sunday, January 29, 2017 after enduring a long struggle from the effects of a stroke that claimed her memory, but not her spirit years ago.

Jean will be lovingly remembered by her siblings Audrey (John), Douglas (Therese), Joy (Cecil), Campbell, Verne (Marlene) as well as several nieces and nephews including Myles, Greg, Lois, Sharon and Bob.

Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband Arthur in 2008, her parents and four siblings: Harvey, Raymond, Lawrence and June.

Jean and Art made their home in Regina and Regina Beach, Saskatchewan, before retiring to Victoria, B.C.

A Private Family Interment and Celebration of Jean’s life will be held in the spring, when the sun is high and the flowers are blooming.

GARBER

HERBERT GARBER, beloved husband of the late Clara Garber (nee Harty) for 60 years, passed away at Milk River Health Centre Friday, February 3, 2017 at the age of 89 years.

Dad was born August 1, 1927, in Weis, Austria. He immigrated to Canada settling in the Milk River with his family just before his third birthday. Dad attended school at 2-15 and Milk River Consolidated High School. He continued his education at Coyne Electrical Trade School in Chicago.

On February 21, 1955, dad married the love of his life, Clara Harty and together they raised their 6 children on the family farm southeast of Foremost.

Dad’s greatest love was his family. It was important to him that the family spend quality time together. Big occasions, little occasions and for no particular occasion the more we were together the better. Next to his family, dad loved his steak at Northside Luigis in Lethbridge. Dad enjoyed his coffee, especially with apple pie and ice-cream. Other hobbies included playing cards, curling, camping and gardening, travelling and going for drives to check out the countryside.

Faith and community life were important to Dad. He was a Life Member of the Knights of Columbus and Elks. He was also a founding member of the Amateur Border Radio Club.

Herbert is survived by his children, Theresa (Dennis) McTaggart, Donald (Teresa) Garber, Linda Robutka, Maureen (Anthony) Miller, Laura (Darwin) Balog all of Milk River, AB and Sheila Garber of Airdrie, AB, 14 grandchildren; Layne (Cary-Anne) McTaggart, Lindsey (Joel) Hougen, Lee McTaggart, Kyle (Kelsey) Garber, Marcie Garber, Cody Robutka, Jason Robutka (Katey Caldwell), Kelsey Robutka, Danny (Amanda) Miller, Devon (Rachelle) Miller, Cheryl Miller (Hayden Rintoul), Bradley (Marina) Balog, Darla (Blair) Seward, Carmen (Patrick) Klatt; 6 great grandchildren Jordan Lodermeier, Carter Hougen, Payten and Dylan Garber, Braxton and Camden Balog. He is also survived by his in-laws Mark & Merelyn Harty, Vincent & Ann Harty, Conrad & Phyllis Harty, Peter & Lynn Harty, Harold & Marion Halvorson, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Herbert was predeceased by his wife Clara, his parents Frank Sr. and Anna Garber, sister Freda and brother-in-law Pete Bruyckere, brother Frank Jr. and sister-in-law Margaret Garber, brother Ernie and sister-in-law Martha Garber, mother and father-in-law Ferdinand and Anna Harty and Katherine Harty, in-laws Ralph Harty, Magdalena & Manny Lehr, and his son-in-law Alan Robutka.

Dad’s generosity, support and awesome sense of humour will be missed by his family and friends.

A Prayer Service will be held at ST. PETER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH – 321 Main Street Northwest Milk River, AB., on Friday February 10, 2017 at 7:30 P.M. with Father Benedicto Tugano IV officiating.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at ST. PETER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Benedicto Tugano IV and Father Dominic Nguyen celebrating.

Following the Memorial Mass, Herbert will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife Clara, in the Milk River Cemetery.

GOSTOLA

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of ANNE AGNES GOSTOLA (nee KEOGAN) on Monday, February 6, 2017.

She is survived by her daughters: Crystal (Mike) Hartman and Tracy Ross; and grandchildren: Dallas, Ryan, and Kendra Gostola.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Texas Gostola; parents, Leo and Elizabeth Keogan; mother and father-in-law, Anna and Coleman Gostola; sister Mary Kovach and other extended family members.

She is survived by her sisters: Leona (Bernie) Sheehan and Helen (Graham) Rignall of Ontario, Linda Williams of British Columbia as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Anne was born on June 12, 1943, in Peterborough, Ontario, the second oldest of 5 daughters. After graduating, she worked as a registered nurse at St. Michael’s Hospital for several years before retiring in 2007. Anne loved serving in her church, was a past president of the Catholic Women’s League as well as being active with the Alzheimer Society, St. Michael’s Auxiliary, and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed numerous hobbies including crocheting, photography, painting and computers.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH- 2405 12th Avenue South on Friday, February 10th, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Father Kevin Tumback, Celebrant. As Anne’s favorite color was blue, all those who attend the service are invited to wear something blue in memory of her.

ORICH

PATRICIA MARIE ORICH (nee Robinson), beloved wife of the late Ken Orich, passed away February 6, 2017 after a lengthy battle with Multiple Sclerosis, at the age of 64. Pat was born on November 14, 1952 in Magrath to Ken and Margaret Robinson. Pat was predeceased by her infant sister Helen Robinson, nephew Gary Hanson, husband Ken Orich and father Ken Robinson. Pat is survived by her children: Jackie (Mike) Hammond of Edmonton, Bryan Orich (Annie Butler) of Hinton, Brent (Kim) Orich of Sylvan Lake; 10 grandchildren: Daniel and Brandon Bodker, Jenna, Kohl, and Nicholas Orich, and Meghan, Ty, Hallie, Jack, and Brock Orich; Pat’s siblings: Louise, Ruth, Pam, Emily, and James and their spouses; and her mother Margaret Robinson, as well as many nieces and nephews. Pat was raised on her parents’ farm in Del Bonita. Pat met and married Ken, the love of her life, on April 27, 1972. Ken and Pat were in the furniture moving business so they were able to travel Canada from coast to coast. Pat didn’t care where she went as long as Ken was by her side. Although Pat was little in stature, she had a feisty spirit and a strong opinion. Pat loved to paint and play Bingo. She loved movies and being outside. Pat loved to laugh and be with friends and family. The Funeral Service will be held at CHRISTENSEN SALMON GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703-13 Street North, Lethbridge on Friday, February 10th at 11:00 am.
