Kelley is survived by her daughters, Kristin (Doug) and Courtney (Doug); her beloved grandchildren Shayla and Halle; brothers Chuck, Jim (Linda) and Shawn (Angie); sisters Merle, Susan and Fawnna (Jim); as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother Marie in 2008 and her father John in 1999.

Kelley was born in Kindersley, Saskatchewan on April 28, 1962. She married the girls’ Dad in 1978 and they raised their two girls in the

WALLEWEIN

With love we announced the passing of Joan Maureen Wallewein (nee Godfrey) who left us on June 8, 2017. Born in Medicine Hat on August 26, 1929, she spent her early childhood on her father’s homestead in Brightbank, Alberta. She grew to maturity in Medicine Hat AB. where she met and married Emil Wallewein in 1949. Joining him on his farm in Scandia she put all her energies into being a farm wife, an active community member, and a busy mother of four. The family moved to Rainier in 1968 to operate what became the Oasis Snack Bar and Service. After serving public and friends in a manner unique to herself, she sold the business in 1985 and retired to Lethbridge AB. There she was an active member of the John Howard Society, the On Our Own group, the Lethbridge Philatelic Society and later as a member of the CNIB Bowlers club. Joan was predeceased by her parents Eva and Ken Godfrey, her husband Emil, and her granddaughter Megan. She is survived by her brother Allan and his family, her four children: Ken (Marlene), Barry (Barb), Tom, Christine, her grandchildren Brian(Casey) and Charlotte (Adam), and great- granddaughter Amalia. Her wit, wisdom, and unyielding gratitude for life’s blessings will be cherished always. We are holding a memorial service for Joan on Saturday, August 26, 2017, her 88 birthday, in the chapel of the Southminster United Church, Lethbridge, at 3 p.m. with a reception to follow. The family requests donations be made to the CNIB in lieu of flowers.
