After adding a WHL goaltender in February, the University of Lethbridge Pronghorn men’s hockey team added a second piece to their 2017-18 recruiting class and bolstered their blue-line Thursday with the announcement of Kamloops Blazer defenceman Dallas Valentine.
Valentine, a six-foot-four Lousana, Alta. product, started his WHL career with the Moose Jaw Warriors, where he played parts of four seasons. He joined the Blazers six games into the 2015-16 season.
Over his WHL career, he compiled 10 goals and 55 assists in 260 regular season games but is more known for his defensive play and was a career-high plus 17 this past season. He also skated in 13 WHL playoff games, recording a goal and an assist.
Prince George Cougar Ty Edmonds is the other commitment the program has received for next season but coach Anastas expects to add to the class before training camp opens in September.
