Hawks girls take flight in win over Medicine Hat

LETHBRIDGE HERALD
Vulcan County Central Hawks rolled to a 75-12 victory over Medicine Hat Crescent Heights in Southern Alberta High School Rugby League girls’ play on Thursday.
Hawks received four tries each from Lexi Saulnier and Emily Slocombe while Jasmyn Lourens added three tries. Cora Puzey and Macey Pearson each had a try in the win while Destiny Gammel contributed five converts.
Soleste Olson and Lauren McLean replied with a try apiece for Crescent Heights and Dee-Anna Seitz added a convert.
In a makeup game that was rained out Wednesday, the Winston Churchill Griffins earned a 34-12 win over the LCI Clippers Thursday.
Leading the Griffins was Nikki Carter with two tries, while Maila Funa, Shelby Needham, Kaitlyn Rombough and Tyler Kruchkrywich had one try each.
Hannah Vanderhulst added one try and two converts for Winston Churchill.
For the Clippers, recent University of Lethbridge Pronghorn signeeµ Jordan Calladine supplied the offence with two tries and one covert.
