Clippers serve up season-opening win

The LCI Clippers girls volleyball team has started the season on a winning note.

The Clippers hosted the Raymond Comets during the first night of Southern Alberta High School Volleyball League play Monday night at LCI, posting a 3-1 win.

LCI won the first two sets 25-15 and 25-16 before the Comets took the third set 27-25.

But the Clippers regrouped in the fourth set with a 25-13 decision to earn the win.

In the junior varsity game, the Comets won 2-1 (17-25, 25-20, 25-12).

Action continues tonight with five boys games on the slate.

The LCI Rams host the Immanuel Christian Eagles, while the Magrath Zeniths pay a visit to the Winston Churchill Bulldogs.

The Chinook Coyotes are home against the Cardston Cougars, while in varsity only play, the Coaldale Kate Andrews Pride hosts the Taber W.R. Myers Rebels and the Picture Butte Sugar Kings travel to the Catholic Central west campus to take on the Cougars at 6 p.m.
