Fadden passes away on weekend

A former member of the Lethbridge Hurricanes has passed away.

Mitch Fadden, a former Hurricanes star who was part of the 2007-08 team that advanced to the Western Hockey League final, passed away suddenly on Sunday. He was 29 years old.

The Victoria native played for the Hurricanes from 2005-2008, scoring 83 goals and 206 points in 182 games, including 34 goals and 89 points in the 2007-08 season.

He played nine games for the Hurricanes in the 2008-09 season before being traded to the Tri-City Americans to complete his WHL career.

Fadden was drafted in the fourth round, 107th overall, in the 2004 NHL draft by the Tampa Bay Lighting.
