In their lone game of the weekend, the Lethbridge midget AAA Hurricanes turned in a shutout win.

The Hurricanes blanked the St. Albert Tire Warehouse Raiders 2-0 during Alberta Midget Hockey League action Saturday evening at Nicholas Sheran Arena.

Carl Tetachuk stopped all 19 shots he faced for his league-leading fifth shutout of the season that improves his record to 13-1-1.

With the win, Canes remain atop the Chrysler Division at 21-4-4 and in first place in the league, four points ahead of the Red Deer Optimist Chiefs.

On Saturday, Kye Buchanan scored in the first period for Lethbridge and Keegan McDowell scored in the second.

The Hurricanes are on the road to Edmonton Saturday when they face the CAC Gregg Distributors before taking on the Leduc Chrysler Oil Kings Sunday.

They’re back home Feb. 3 when they host the Lloydminster Bandit Energy Bobcats at 4:15 p.m. at Nicholas Sheran Arena.
