I agree. I voted “no” for permanent daylight saving time. We did just fine on standard time before DST. It is also the anniversary of my aunt’s death in a motor vehicle accident on the morning of Nov. 2, 2008, the morning of DST then. They turned left at the Granum intersection on their way to church with the sun in their eyes in front of a northbound vehicle.
I feel that DST was a factor in this accident, and there are more motor vehicle accidents at the time of DST. I wrote several letters to the Alberta provincial government at the time and practically begged for them to consider discontinuing DST in light of lives lost in DST accidents, to no avail.
