National Philanthropy Day 2020

National Philanthropy Day is an initiative of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Global and is a celebration of philanthropy – giving, volunteering and charitable engagement – that highlights the accomplishments, large and small, that philanthropy – and all those involved in the philanthropic process -makes to our society and our world.
The week of Nov. 17, AFP Southern Alberta Chapter is celebrating the philanthropic spirit during the sixth annual (virtual) Inspiring Philanthropy Awards presented by the Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta. Although there will be no physical event this year, that isn’t stopping the AFP local chapter from celebrating philanthropy in southern Alberta.
The Inspiring Philanthropy Awards honour seven philanthropists in southern Alberta and is made possible and successful through support of local businesses and organizations that are exceptional philanthropists in their own right. AFP is excited to announce this years honourees:

Head to AFP Southern Alberta Facebook (AFPSouthernAlbertaChapter) and Instagram (afp_southernalberta) starting today, as we will be sharing a video each day until we have celebrated all seven of the outstanding 2020 recipients.
AFP Southern Alberta Chapter is also proud to support a $1,000 scholarship for a Grade 12 or first-year post-secondary student. This scholarship will support a student that best exemplifies positive civic and community support through their interest in, commitment to, and active involvement in volunteer and philanthropic causes.
