Youth facing 16 charges in connection with vandalism spree in Highlands

Lethbridge Regional Police Service has charged a 15-year-old boy following a weekend vandalism spree in the Highlands subdivision.
Saturday, police received numerous reports of vandalism along Redcrow Boulevard, Jerry Potts Boulevard, Highlands Place, Aberdeen Road and Tartan Circle after vehicles, travel trailers and fences were spray painted overnight. Damages, in a total of 16 cases of property damage, are estimated at more than $5,000.
Following further investigation, two young-offender subjects were identified and arrested. A 15-year-old boy was subsequently charged and a 16-year-old boy was diverted to alternative measures, according to police.
The 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named, is charged with 16 counts of mischief under $5,000. He was released from custody on a promise to appear in court April 22.
