Lethbridge Regional Police Service has charged a 35-year-old man in connection with numerous break and enters on the southside over the past few weeks.
In the latter part of February and into March, police noted an increase in break and enters concentrated on the southside that involved similar methods of entry and types of property targeted. Following further investigation, a suspect was identified.
On March 13, members of the Priority Crimes Unit located a male suspect in the area of the 2000 block of 23rd Avenue South, and following a short foot pursuit, he was taken into custody without incident. The subject was found to be in possession of stolen property at the time.
The 35-year-old man has subsequently been charged in connection with eight break and enters where cash, jewelry, liquor and electronics were targeted. The incidents range from the beginning of the month to March 13.
Investigation is ongoing and additional charges are anticipated, according to police.
Jonathon William Cohen, 35, of Lethbridge, is charged with eight counts of house breaking and commit theft.
Cohen, who was also the Wanted Wednesday subject last week for being unlawfully at large, has been remanded in custody to appear in court March 20.
