Police seek more information on Sunday motorcycle collision

Lethbridge Regional Police Service continues to investigate a motorcycle collision over the weekend that resulted in serious injuries to a 29-year-old man.
Sunday at approximately 4:10 p.m., a Honda motorcycle travelling eastbound in the 2500-2700 block of Scenic Drive South with a group of motorcycles was observed weaving through traffic at high speeds, according to police.
The 29-year-old driver of the motorcycle lost control and was ejected as he approached the 28th Street South intersection. After being ejected, police added the man’s body continued travelling east and struck a car before coming to rest. The motorcycle hit a traffic light standard and came to rest on the median. The driver was transported to Chinook Regional Hospital with serious injuries, and remains in the ICU, according to police, who added speed was a factor in the collision, and while the investigation is ongoing at this time, charges against the 29-year-old driver are anticipated.
