Lethbridge Regional Police Service has arrested Michael Jason Red Crow, 31, in connection with an assault on Monday afternoon.
Red Crow is currently in custody, after police issued a warrant for his arrest and sought the public’s assistance in locating him.
Red Crow, of no fixed address, is charged with assault with a weapon and breaching the conditions of a recognizance.
On June 8, at approximately 2:13 p.m., police responded to a report of a disturbance in Galt Gardens and located an 18-year-old woman suffering from several cut wounds from an edged weapon. The victim was transported to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Investigation determined the victim and accused are known to one another, and the assault was precipitated by a verbal argument that escalated to a physical attack, according to police.
Red Crow was previously charged in an earlier assault where a 20-year-old man was stabbed May 26 of this year in Galt Gardens.
In that case, the victim and two subjects were involved in a verbal argument that escalated to physical violence, police added. The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at hospital, and Red Crow was subsequently charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a dangerous weapon. Red Crow was released on a recognizance with conditions prohibiting him from possessing any weapons.
