The verdict is in.
Today in Lethbridge Court of Queen’s Bench, Addison Wakefield and Michael Mitchell learned their fate. Both were found guilty by Justice D.K. Miller of second-degree murder in connection with the stabbing death of George Span back in 2013.
Wakefield and Mitchell will be back in court in Lethbridge Friday, June 26 to set a date for sentencing, which will likely be sometime this fall.
The 58-year-old George Span was found dead in his northside home on Jan. 14 of 2013. It was the city’s first reported murder that year.
Mitchell and Wakefield were charged soon after, and made their first court appearance Feb. 1 of that year.
